Nick Studios at Universal?

Is there some type of Nick studios at USF? What types of Nick tie-ins are there? I know about Jimmy Neutron. Any characters or other shows/rides? TIA

There was a Nickelodeon Studios at USF but it has closed as of about a year ago. The Jimmy Neutron ride is still there, not sure about any characters walking around.

We took pictures with Jimmy Neutron and Dora one morning at the entrance to the park last summer (Aug 2005). The studios were closed at that time.

We are staying at the Nick hotel in November to get that "nick fix" for the boys.

Why was Nick Studios closed? I never went there but I am going to the Universal Parks in November for the first time and I was hoping to get slimed or something there lol, I think looks awesome in my opinion. Was it closed to be re-newed or something? I hope so and if it is being re-vamped I hope it opens when I am there!

It's closed because most of the TV show production moved to Hollywood. The idea that Orlando would become an east coast movie capital for Universal and MGM never materialized.

So no, Nickelodeon as a studio is gone from Orlando for good

Oh no! Thats stinks! I wish there was some way they could just make it so they have open as a attraction area where people can be slimed & play games and not so much as a Studio Production Site for the TV shows. OR They can open just for me and my family when I go down there lol... Oh well, maybe something new and better might come out of that old space...

That's the way it was for a while. It was just a little game show for the kids. It was a waste of space, IMO. In the studio's heyday, you could sit in a live audience, take a tour of the sets they used, find out how they made slime, etc. I don't think it's a coincidence that the channel lost all of it's quality programming when it left Universal.

As for the building's future, the rumors circulating are that it will be annexed by Citywalk and turned into a permanent theater for the Blue Man Group.

Oh thats not good I always wanted to see Nick Studios when I was little. I thought Universal Parks were based on Nick when I was little the same way WDW is based on Disney. I'm now 15. Me, my brother & sister, and my cousins were looking foward to go to the Nick Studios part of Universal next summer (it would my cousins first trip to Flordia) but I guess not. I don't know why it wasn't so popular because from what relatives and friends told me on their past trips to Universal they liked the Nick Studios and it was one of the things they said was a must see attraction but I don't understand why everyone else wasn't as crazy about it. I do agree the Nick Network (Today) doesn't have as many great programs as it did before. I don't think they should totally give up on the Nick Studios section of the park. I think they should try to re-vamp it in some sort of way and maybe add some different things that you don't see in just any theme park that would being appealing to the park guests and draw a crowd towards the Nick Studios like the new show they made, (360). It shouldn't have to be a Production Site that wastes $$$ on making Lame TV Shows, it can always just be an really cool attraction area for park guests to go to. I wouldn't put the Blue Man Group because I wouldn't want to see them so I don't think there are any other Kids who would either or any adults that I know of but what do I know. I hope I can have the most fun I can while I am in Universal. Oh, since there is no Nick Studios does that mean there is nothing relating to Nick besides the Jimmy Newtron ride? Are there still characters to see in the park like Sponge Bob, Fairly Odd Parents, or Rugrats?

Yep as of right now all signs point to The Blue Man Group show to occupy the building where Nickelodeon used to be, with the entrance from Citywalk right next to the Hard Rock cafe.

Nickelodeon Studios was very popular. It was probably the biggest draw in the entire park while it was still being used for actual production, but Nick eventually moved all production to Hollywood. It was pretty much useless after that. Universal held onto the remaining attraction for it's namesake until Nick decided to close it completely last year. Universal had little say in the matter.

While I could go on and on about the why's, they found it more effective to move their one and only live set of television to their studios on Sunset Strip, because quite frankly when about 80 percent of Nick's television production becomes Animated, it's harder and harder to justify a live action studio.

Personally, I doubt BMG going there. Interesting rumour though.

1. yes
2. rates are all over the spectrum, many factors.
3. depends on what size suite, a two bedroom sleeps up to 7.
4. that's too philosophical for me.

there are poolside slimings, a mass 400 gallon sliming, and sliming in the nighttime shows.
