My whole family is going to Orlando for the week. We have a couple of timeshares for the family. I want to stay an extra night at the Nick Hotel, but have a couple of questions:
1. What time is check in and can we go early and use the facilities?
2. What type of character meals do they have and how do you book them?
3. Do you need to book the show?

I have never stayed off site from Disney and am already feeling out of my depth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

check in is 4:00 but you can get there early and use the facilities. there's a character breakfast that you can book on the website. you definately need to reserve a seat at the shows, you can do this at guest services in the mall.

I need more info on the NICk hotel too! I have read many reviews on it at tripadvisor etc. I would like to know what is included there and what is not. One poster on tripadvisor said that almost everything there had a price except for the pools. I just want to know what to expect regarding $$$$. Thanks! :)

When are you going?

I'm going for 2 days before we spend a week at our TS. We'll be down the first week in Nov.

I originally had 2 days at the Crown Plaza booked but my rug rat heard about the Nick hotel from a neighbor.

I told her the Nick hotel was not part of my rewards nights (I travel a bit for work and the nights we're at the hotel are free) and we were staying at a fancy place and she told me it (the Nick) was a Holiday Inn. I checked, she was correct and I changed my reservations.

I've read the comments on a few websites and combined with what the neighbors have said, have come to the following conclusion.

It's a place for kids, if you (an adult) expects to be entertained in any other way that seeing your kids enjoy themselves, go some place else.

Be sure to ask questions about shows times and free stuff when you check in.

I’ll report back when I get back.

there are some craft and snack activities throughout the day that are extra. the shows are included with your stay, but you need a reservation for a seat.
