Nick Hotel--Tips

Just returned from a split stay that included the Nick Hotel for 4 nites. Here are some of our lessons learned--

1) Best place to stand during the daily sliming is on the 1 level ramp under the bucket
2) If you want to stand on the ground during the sliming, the slime only reaches with white grate on the ground under the bucket.
3) People begin standing around about 30 mins prior to the sliming
4) To get towels at the pool you have to give your name & room number--if they are not returned by the end of the day they charge you $5
5) Elevators are REALLY slow
6) Food court is You are better off driving quickly to another place (both Subway and Uno have really close local stores)
7) Friday and Saturday CRAZY busy but Sunday and Monday were relatively quiet
8) There are lots of Girl Scouts everywhere during their May Girl Scout promotion.

Lastly the boys LOVED it, DH & I would stay again for the kids!!

Thanks for the tips. We arrive at the Nick on the 21st. Should we just bring towels from our rooms? I wasn't planning on bringing beach towels with me or maybe just run to the Walmart and pick up cheap ones once we get there. How close is the Walmart? Also, how was transportation to the parks? I've read the shuttle only runs twice in the morning and twice in the afternoon. Does the Nick offer discount tickets to Universal? THANKS!!!

Hello-
Enjoy the trip! I would get some cheap towels from Walmart. The Walmart was very close. I am horrible with directions but it was the next exit on I-4 or you could go the back roads (less than 10 mins away). There was also Walgreens & Publix very close. They did sell Univeral and Flex tics in the "mall". We had a rental car but I did review the transportation schedule for Sea World. There were 2 departure times (approx 8:30 and 9:30 but only 1 return time approx 4:00 I think)...

You have given really nice observation when you stayed there, really funny some but I liked it. A few people have such a observation power like you have. Hotel's have their own protocols to maintain the peace and its not easy to manage a huge hotel. So they have to apply the fine system also.
