Well I called the Nick Hotel and it turns out they are pretty much the same price as a Value resort at WDW. You get a 1 bedroom suite and I"m just wondering, since this will be our first trip, if we should just stay at ASMo like I have planned or stay at the Nick hotel.....??

They must be having one heckuva special because normally I think the Nick suites run upwards of $200+.

If you are planning on doing mostly Disney, I would do All Star Movies. Not only do I think the theming and grounds are better/nicer, you also can take advantage of all the transportation onsite as well as Extra Magic Hours, etc.

Have a great trip!

Very true - I totally forgot about the Extra Magic Hours.

But yea, Nick is having an awesome sale....the longer you stay, the cheaper it is. For 8 nights, I was able to get a price of $1143.08.

That still comes out to $143/night, are you going over Christmas or something? That just seems awfully high for the values (since you said it was roughly the same price).

value resorts are around $100 these days without discounts.

of course you can generally find discounts of the values.

Not exactly. I just priced Friday & Saturday nights in March and they were about $145/night. I couldn't believe my eyes! What happened to the "value".

We stayed at the Nick Hotel in Feb and my kids loved it! The pool area can't be beat. I can't vouch for transportation to and from Disney since we were there for a long weekend and just enjoyed the hotel. We had a two bedroom suite and really enjoyed the extra space.

If you stay at Nick, will you rent a car? You'd have to factor that into the price. You really don't need a car at Disney.

lots of us are wondering.

don't be surprised if Disney doesn't come out with another resort - economy - a little less room than values - probably less pickin' at the food court - maybe no pool bar (now this I doubt - disney makes quite a bit on bar drinks)...

found the 2009 rates

spring break - weekday (sun-thurs) $125.00 - standard
spring break weekend (fri / sat) - $135.00 - standard

summer - $115 (weekday)
summer - $125 (weekend) & independence (July 3-5)

next year at least Aug 9th til Oct 1 is value season.

Is that for value or the Nick Hotel? I'm a little unclear. If that is value, I'm going to say DAMN! I remember when I got $49 rates at All Star as well as a $69 rate throught Magic Kingdom Club.

Personally if given the choice, I'd probably go onsite. You don't pay for parking and you get the EMH.

the Disney's value resort...

wanna bet we don't see a bunch of discounts next year - or might be wrong - Disney might still be doing GREAT. It certainly is this year.

now the fall/winter are still almost reasonable

value - $82
regular - $105, some weekends are $115 - others are $105 the same as weekdays.
