I just spoke with the Nick Hotel and it appears they have changed their kid's eat free program from kids 12 & under to kids 5 & under. Thinking I had heard wrong, I checked the website and sure enough, it is 5 & under. When you add up that and the new $20/night resort fee, this place is getting to be quite expensive. In addition, they quoted me a price of over $300/night. Last year I paid $142. I am so disappointed. I wanted to go again in August but it may be just too much money at this point. I may look into staying onsite instead :sad1: , but we love it at the Nick.

August---especially after the first week or two---is slow enough that you could probably sit tight and wait for a Nick discount to come out.

Book a cancellable reservation you can live with in the meantime, but I think your chances are good.

I actually said to the reservation person that I will wait since I know that the prices will go down a lot further than that. I was a little surprised that they went from 12 to 5 on the kids eat free program. I think that was another big draw to some people. If we go, we will definitely eat more meals offsite this time. I think that was a dumb move on their part. I would think they would find it more productive to keep their guests onsite rather than having them spend money off site for meals.

I read about this change in a post a couple days ago and I thought it must be a mistake. I sent an email to the Nick Hotel asking for clarification of their Kids Eat Free program 2 days ago and have heard nothing back. Still waiting on a response from an unrelated email that I sent 3 days ago as well... how's that for customer service!?!?!

Anyway, if my kids no longer eat free, I can't imagine us eating the breakfast buffet (IMO, not very good at all) or rushing back from the parks to make it in time to have a late dinner in the Nick Toons Cafe this year. Thank God we cancelled our long 15-night ressie due to our change in travel dates and rebooked 6 nights on the Nick Fun special or it would NOT be worth staying here at all. I'm actually thankful we have the rest of our 2-week trip booked at another suite hotel... one that's cheaper and offers a free breakfast to boot! ;)

Mind me asking where you booked. I am looking for another place to stay in August, much to the dismay of one of my kids. He won't even think about another place. I am watching the $$$$$ add up at Nick and saying oh yeah to someplace else. I just really want a good pool. Thanks!
