Has anyone stayed at the Nick hotel? Did you like it? We have 4 kids and a baby and are´re looking for a place to stay for 1 or 2 nights in November.

go look on the review board.

the reviews have been really bad lately.

they started off great - but in the last year - very few positive ones - mostly negative.

so just not sure.

if they have done a rehab would definitely go with them - if they haven't paying over $150 for one of their rooms just won't work for me.

Any recommendations for a hotel with a great pool (preferably heated)?

kids like

Horizons at the Marriott.

how old is the person who needs the swimming pool?

Friends of mine stayed at the Nick hotel. They loved it. The inside of the rooms is not as garish as you might imagine just driving by the place and the kids have their own area. You can pick the theme of the kid area - they had Spongebob, I think.

The best thing was that there is a toddler area by the pool that has cushy stuff covering the ground, so if the kid falls he doesn't crack his head open or anything. There are little fountains that shoot water up gently. And the whole deal is enclosed, so the kid isn't wandering off anywhere. We two grown ladies sat and chatted with each other and didn't have to watch the baby constantly while he had a grand old time. :cheer2:

We met Dora, who spent a ton of time with him. Even followed him around when he walked away. The characters are wonderful!

I didn't actually sleep there and wouldn't choose it if kids weren't involved, but I simply can't say enough good things about the place. You cannot do better where children are involved than the Nick hotel.

We just stayed there last November and loved it!

Our kids are 5, 8 and 10 and they had a blast.

Our room was a 2 room suite. It was small but clean. The beds were comfy. There is a lot to do at the resort from the pools, Slime Time, pool side activities, character meals, arcade, shows, mini golf, etc. We couldn't drag our kids from the main pool!!

The food court has several choices from pizza hut, subway, A & W and a decent breakfast bar. There is also a sit down dinner each night with characters. The cost is a bit high but not higher than Disney. I did wish for more healthier selections as you can only eat so many turkey sandwiches from subway and bananas from the grocery store!!!

All in all, I don't know if I could spend a week here but we would stay there again for a 3 or 4 day stay and would recommend to friends. In fact, we did. Our friends are staying there this weekend. : )

Feel free to PM me with any questions. Be sure to sign up at guest reception for the evening family shows as they fill up and seating is limited. They are quite cute!

P.S. Look for deals on travelzoo.com. We got a great rate even in November at Thanksgiving time. Oh and don't miss ICE! if it's going on during your stay. It's at the Gaylord Palms Hotel but well worth the jaunt over to see it!

We are staying 2 nights in August before going to Disney. My kids are as excited about NICK as Disney!!!!!!!!! Hope it is nice. It is expensive!!!! But it is what they wanted to do....

My favorite three year old was just asking if I remembered when we went to Disney. After I assured him that I did, he told me, "I seed Dora when I was at Disney World. Dora played with me!"

His favorite thing, from the whole trip, was seeing Dora at the Nick hotel. He doesn't get that the hotel wasn't Disney. He doesn't need to. :)
