I know a few people here have stayed there, so hopefully somebody can answer your question. But you might get a better response to this on the "Other Orlando Resorts" boards as there are quite a few reviews of it over there.

And just in case you weren't aware - The Nick Hotel is not part of Universal and is actually closer to WDW than Universal.

From what I know, you have to be a guest at the hotel to do anything there. When you check in the place a wrist band on any member of your party who is like over 2 years. You are supposed to keep the band on the entire time you stay or you will most likely be stopped and questioned as to whether you are a guest or not. Only guests are allowed to utilize the services, etc. and Nick hotel.
