Nicest studios?

Hi, all!

Taking into account decor, layout, and personal taste, which DVC resort do you think has the "nicest" Studio rooms, and why?

If you have three or more adults or older children, I'd pick OKW for the two queens over a queen and sleeper.

Otherwise my favorite is BCV! Great location, dining options, some have really long balconies, close parking, room service and a very quiet atmosphere but close to two parks. Oh, and SAB!

OKW studio bathrooms are also much larger than the others. The tub/toilet room is not separate from the sink. And I also like the two queen sized beds. If we were going to stay in a studio.

OKW studios are the biggest of all the DVC resorts. 2 queen beds and a large bathroom. My wife and I personally like BWV if only the 2 of us go to WDW. Location is great to be able to walk to 2 parks.

Location or theme or resort amenties, pick what appeals to you. Room size and the fact you get 2 beds and really nice bathroom, OKW.

We own and love OKW and usually get a 1-B/R there, but whenever we get a Studio, since it's just DW and myself, and since we don't need the two Queen beds at OKW, our preferences are BCV, BWV or VWL. The reason is that when staying in a Studio we're spending more time in the parks, and thus location is more important.

purely from a decor perspective, i would say i prefer the dark woods and furnishings at SSR.

i haven't been in all of the resorts yet, though. (just SSR, OKW and the model at BWV.)

With two new buildings opening up bit by bit, you could request an area that would give you a SSR unit that was almost brand new.

As for OKW - the bathroom at OKW is really HUGE compared to the other resorts. The extra space in the bedroom did not make that much of an impression because 2 queen beds take up lots of floor space - but the difference in the size of the bathroom is phenomenal.

Although the larger bathroom at OKW is great, we really prefer the larger amount of storage space at BWV's. The dresser drawers are bigger and the kitchenette has more cupboard space. As well, for just two adults, it is nice to have the sofa and the space it gives at BWV.

If it's just the 2 of us then we like VWL, BCV or BWV in that order. If there is more than 2 of us, then OKW for the 2 queen beds.

I like VWL the best of the studios, with OKW & BWV second.

don't like the sofa bed at BCV - feels like sand paper to me.

SSR is just too fancy and expensive looking for my taste.

The nicest studios at any of the DVC resorts are the ones at HH, hands down. They are about 30% larger than any other resort and are set up in such a way that there is more usable space as well. Their balconies are also superior to the studios at any of the other resorts. Among the on-site resorts, we like OKW because everyone gets a bed and the bathroom is much larger than other resorts (though it is not a split bathroom). The drawback of the OKW studios is the location of the wet bar relative to the bathroom and the main entrance to the studio, and the lack of an armoire for storing clothes and things. Among the other resorts, my favorite studios would have to be at SSR. The main reason for this is that they have the amenities that I like from BCV in terms of the location of the wet bar and the armoire for storage, but their sofa beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on.

no, I love the 2 queen beds when I am bring someone....

it is the only studio I will stay at if I have guess.

I am getting to old to pull out that sofa bed and then sleep on it.

The BCV decor is my favorite, so my vote goes for there. I love the theme of VWL, but hate the "dark" colors in the rooms (although we don't mind staying there). I just prefer the colors of BCV.

I guess I'm the only one who's really bothered by the lack of a coffee table at the BWV studios (unless they added them in the last year). One reason I much prefer BCV is that I can sit on the sofa, put my feet up, and watch TV. If I'm lying on the sofa, reading a book, I can drag the coffee table closer to me to put my beverage on. Somehow not having a coffee table is a small thing, but important to some. And what aggravates me the most about it is that I sat at an annual meeting in 2003 where they announced that BWV was in the process of getting coffee tables in its studios. Two years later-where were they?

But then they would be just like the others, so I like that we have the option of 2 beds at OKW and 1 bed and a sofa at the others if it is just the 2 of us.

But it would be nice we staying at OKW in a studio to have a nice sofa to sit on.
