We are booked at RPH but I am having second thoughts about our choice, the rooms look smaller there than HRH and it looks like HRH has more of a sitting area with a sofa, I do not see a sofa in the pics for RPR. Also HRH looks more modern.

Any advice?

Not sure about the size of the rooms but we much prefer the RPR to the HRR. IMHO the Hard Rock has very little ambience. The rooms are almost barren and the whole place has a cold feel to it and, of course, you do have to like loud music. The RPH has a sophisticated tropical decor and the pool area is very nicely themed, including a small beach.

We'll be at the RPR for three nights in two weeks.

Enjoy your trip!

check on the loews hotel site for more info on the rooms for rph.

rph has smaller standard rooms than hrh.

are you looking for more room in the lobby or sleeping room?

there is a difference in the 2 hotels for both of them.

it's basically a personal preference of the type of decor and ambiance you are desiring.
i have stayed numerous times at both hotels and find something lovely in each of them.

i prefer the rph due to the ambiance of the lobby and food places in the hotel and nearby.

hrh is the smallest hotel on site.
their rooms have extra footage than rph but less pool view rooms.

if you plan to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, check out the photos of hrh and rph rooms and see how that would satisfy your family.
some guests go for what the hotel has to offer.
others go and stay onsite for sleeping and basically spending most of their time in the parks.

if it is only 2 peeps going on the trip, either hotel would be fine.

not all standard rooms at hrh have sofas.
most have chairs in the rooms,as well as rph.

what type of room have you already booked at rph?
did you go with a standard or a suite?

A suite? I wish,lol....no a waterview room which I know is just a standard room with a better view. Yes I like the ambience of the RPH so think we will stick to it.

Is there a fridge in the room? You would think with the cost of these hotels that they would have better amenities and bigger rooms but I guess it's all about location. The Hyatt across the street has bigger rooms and more amenities in the rooms for half the price but no decent dining and of course not as close.

Thanks for the help.

It sounds like you are looking at the pictures of the deluxe rooms at the HRH. They have a sitting area with a pullout sofa. There are no deluxe rooms at the RPR. The standard rooms at the HRH are a bit larger than the RPR but not that much.

The room size between the two resorts is nothing you'd really notice, 20 or 30 more square feet.

Maybe this is too much of a generalization, but, are you early thirties or younger w/o small kiddo's? Looking for energy and atmosphere? HRH is your best bet. Or are you looking for rest, peace and a little quiet time, do you have young kids that want to play in the sand while you set in a beach chair? -RPR is for you.

No offense meant to any age group! ;)

2 adults, me 50 and my son 22. I am sure he would love the rock theme but I want peace and quiet,lol...and since he chose the Disney hotel, this hotel is my choice. We will get enough energy and atmosphere at the parks.

Thanks all.

Okay, if you want peace and quiet go with RPH. You're right, he (and you) will get enough energy at the parks, let the hotel be your peaceful place. I'm sure your son will not miss anything. Plus, you can always take a couple hours and visit the HRH during your trip.

No fridge in the standard room at RPR (well, there is a fridge- just not for your use! It's a locked fridge filled with expensive items for sale...)

We love both of 'em! No wrong choice as far as rooms go!
Standard rooms are very similar.
The biggest plus for me is how close the HRH is to the entrance of US!
