We would like to try a "Nice" resturaunt as my DM would say near Disney. While we are at home at BW she would like to venture out and Denny's is not her speed and only tolerates Olive Garden (Snob is a good term!). She needs a tablecloth and a wine list. Any thoughts?

The California Grill on the top floor of the Contemporary was one of the best meals I have EVER had. They certainly aren't "giving the food away" however, it was worth every penny -- from appitizer to dessert!

And it meets the tablecloth and wine list standard. ;)

BTW, do Disney restaurants qualify as "venturing out"? Because Spoodles is right there on the BW, and is also a good quality "nice" place.

Emeril's at Universal's City Walk is very nice and has excellent food! Also, if you're looking for on-site options, you might try Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge or Victoria & Albert's at Grand Floridian.

If you are going off property, there are alot of great restaurants in the Sand Lake Rd/Dr Philips Blvd area.

There are so many "nice" restaurants at WDW -- is it necessary to leave the property to do so?

California Grille, Artist Pointe, Flying Fish and more

I can vouch for Emeril's at CityWalk/Universal, though!!

Be aware, some of the nicer places at WDW like California Grille have an open kitchen. I know from experience with my father, when he wants a 'nice' meal (white table cloth, fine service) that does not include a loud restaurant. I am not sure if your DM falls into that catagory but if she does you may want to factor that in.

If you really want to impress her why don't you take her to Victoria and Alberts. Now, I have never been there, but it is supposedly the ultimate in White table cloth experiences at WDW. They even have a dress code there, it is the only restaurant at WDW to require a jacket and is EXPENSIVE.. She may enjoy that! :)

We never go very fancy when we are on vacation, we do that at home as Dad belongs to a Country Club and we have to get dressed up to go there. ;) I like to relax when I am in Florida...

What kind of food does she like, what price range and how far off property or does it have to be off property?????
