Nice reommendation for engaged couple

I think that V&A would be an excellent choice for a very special night. The CG would also be special but I have seen others call it romantic. I personally feel that CG is much too busy a restaurant to feel romantic, but if you can lose the world in the eyes of your fiance, go for it. Of the restaurants I have experienced the one that doesn't get much attention (probably because it is at Universal and this is a Disney Rest. thread) is Tchoup Chop. The meal, service and setting were all quite amazing.

Whatever your choice, have a magical time!

Victoria and albert's I think is going to be our choice...but nothing is set in stone just yet....Do you have to wear a tie to V & A? Also this is in the Grand Flordian...it doesn't take any kind of special pass or ticket to get into the resort to eat?

I'm not sure about the tie, but I do know you can get a parking pass that is good for up to 3 hours while you are at the GF, so that would be your best option for parking at the resort. I'm pretty sure you simply have to tell the person at the gate that you have reservations at V&A and you should be able to get the parking pass with no problem.

There is valet parking at grand floridian? Nice!! I've never really had valet parking....Just pull up they take your car and bring it back when your through with your dinner? Is that basicly how it works? How much tip? :thumbsup2

That's how it works! Beats the regular parking lot which is some distance from the GF entrance.
All kinds of theories and practices on tipping--I usually tip $2.00 when I drop the car and $2.00 when I get it back.
Best to validate the valet parking ticket at V&A as soon as you arrive--they have the stamp right at the podium. That way you won't forget to do it. I forgot once, but it actually worked out just fine. When the valet parking attendant saw the rose Mrs U was carrying from V&A--he just assumed we'd been there!

There is another whole thread on the tip controversy :rolleyes1 , and there are many different schools of thought :teacher: . Some people give $2.00 or $3.00 to the person who brings their car :car: . Others split the tip to the person who takes the car and tips again to the one who brings it back :car: . It all depends on where I am and the situation ( in some garages in NY they "bury" :hmghost: your car, so I tip well not to "bury" my car). At somewhere like the GF, I would tip anywhere from $3.00-$5.00 to the person who returns your car to you. Unless, you have a sqecial request for your car then you should tip an additional $3.00 to the person who takes the car. With valet parking you just pull up and leave your keys in the car and they will give a claim check and that's it! Have a great time. :dance3:

victoria & alberts at the grand floridian is very nice & romantic, all the women guests receive a rose & their is a dress code requiring men to wear a jacket. its expensive but has a fabolous always changing multicourse meal. after your meal head to the beach & watch the electrical water pagaent on the lake & then the magic kingdom fireworks from a distance. thats what my husband & i did on the first part of our honeymoon this march, it was a great evening.

Sounds like great advice for you so far. I would recommend Victoria and Alberts or California Grill. Whether at the Floridian or Contemporary you can pay to park at the TTC and take the Monorail to either location - or park at Down Town Disney and take the bus to either location. Having a romantic dinner during Wishes is a great idea. (hopefully I can surprise DW one day).

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days, but if price doesn't matter....DEFINITELY Victoria and Albert's. Your fiancee will feel like a grown-up princess. It is a one-of-a-kind dining experience; top notch. Dress slacks & jacket are necessary, tie optional, absolutely not a tux. No pass or ticket needed to get into the resort (the Grand Floridian in itself is beautiful). Your fiancee will get a long-stemmed rose, and you'll get personalized menus (unless things have changed recently). I really hope you go!! Please post and let us know about your wonderful night!! Your fiancee is a lucky girl...and you must be pretty lucky too if she deserves this!!
