I'm on the hunt for some nice wine glasses. I currently have a cheap set picked up at Kohls or somewhere similar. I love the super thin glasses DCL uses, but I really don't have a clue what I'm looking for!

The problem with beautiful thin wine glasses is that they are delicate and break quite easily. I hope that you find something that you like, which isn’t too expensive.

Years ago I got dh a nice set of Riedel that included red and white glasses.
They are nice and thin, and none of them are broken :thumbsup2

A lot depends on your price range. You can look around online for various brands/prices of wine glasses. Some brands actually sell several sizes/shapes of glasses for different types of wines if you want to go to that extreme. Stores like Bed/Bath & Beyond also sell a range of glassware, so you can see it in person to see what best fits your needs.

I have Riedel glasses for when I want to drink fancily.

They are only hand washed and I've had them for years.

You can often times find these in Home Goods, TJ Maxx, etc.,

I stopped by Bed, Bath, and Beyond this weekend and looked at the Riedel glasses they had on display. I wasn't overly impressed, they felt plastic-like, but maybe because they were pretty dirty and covered in dust? It also looks like they have different grades of glasses on their website, maybe the ones on display were lower quality than their other ones?

That's probably true. Mine are very thin and feel great on my lips. Mine were a more expensive grade... but not bank breaking.

Crate & Barrel have a large selection of different styles and makers of wine glasses and they are on sale right now.

Honest question. Why? If you put a $5 wine glass next to a $50 wine glass, I don't think I could pick out the more expensive one. I mean, I would like one more than another but could not tell the difference between a really nice one vs. one from a kohls set.

We have 2 sets of these.

Marquis is Waterford's more affordable line. They are not true lead crystal that Waterford is known for but they are quite thick and solid. These would easily last the rest of my life. Judging from the latest review about them possibly being a knockoff, I would only buy directly from Amazon, not from a 3rd party seller.
