We need to stay offsite for 3 nights about a month ago I looked at different hotels and saw a nice one that said free hot breakfast and a happy hour with free soda wine and beer it said they had luxury mattresses well now I can't find it anyone know of this hotel? Or any other nice place to stay for 3 nights? Thank you :confused3

Royale Parc Suites has always been quite nice, near Old Towne. It does have a complimentary breakfast and managers Happy Hour each evening. On their website now, if you book before Oct. 31, you can get 25% off, which really is a great price (I believe they cheapest rate we've gotten is 30%).
Hope that helps a little!

A few months ago we stayed at the Embassy Suites near the Cross Roads center, which is right across the street from DTD. It was a beautiful room, a suite actually, with a mini fridge and sink, big living room area, dining table, and a big bathroom. They offer a free manager's reception where we got a free drink (margaritas!) and snacks. They also have free, hot breakfast, including made-to-order omlets. It was very nice and we'd definitely stay there again!

DH and I like the La Quinta on Universal Blvd. They have a mini fridge and microwave in the room as well as free local calls and a free continental breakfast. We find that it's close to everything no matter what park you're going to. Usually has great rates too. No parking/resort fees. I've gotten it for $50 a night before.

If I found the right one, they have this for $42/night right now. How far of a drive is this to Disney?

Staybridge Suites - 535 in the Cypress Pointe development (same area where the two Cypress Pointe Resorts, Bluetree and Country Inn & Suites are located has a GREAT breakfast and very upscale, large units. See it here Great location and very nice rooms (most or all with kitchens). The website says they offer free shuttle to the parks as well. That is a rare feature.

The La Quinta on Universal Blvd is about 6.4 miles to Disney property according to MapQuest. The address for the hotel is 8504 Universal Blvd. It's down the street from Universal, Sea World, the convention center and lots of shopping areas. Disney isn't that far either. That's why we usually stay here. It's on the same street as the Holiday Inn and Suites mentioned earlier in the post. The people at the La Quinta are always nice and the place is quiet and clean.

We stayed here 2 years ago and loved it.I'd stay there again anyday. Huge breakfast - cook to order sections, cocktail hour, movies some nights, 2 nice pools and transportation. Also very close to restuarants and a small store.

Across the street from the property - 5 - 10 minute bus trip

Were then any extra fees? Safe fees, surcharge, resort fee, etc or is the price you book online what you pay when you get there?

You said close to property so I assume you mean Disney, closest to which area?

We like the Fairfield at Lake Buena Vista. There is also a Spring Hill Suites in the same location. :thumbsup2

Reporting back on our stay and have to say that we LOVED IT! Breakfast was great and so was the Manger's reception. My DH was totally impressed with my selection of hotel. I had booked a different hotel but canceled to stay here. So glad that I did! The kids loved the pool and hot tub (so did the parents) and I felt safe letting the kids (DS13 & DS9) go back to the room alone if they needed to. We were on the 6th floor and DS9 loved riding in the glass elevator. The room itself was wonderful! Having to vanities made getting ready in the morning a dream. DH and I slept in one bed, DS9 slept in the other and DS13 slept on the fold out couch. DS13 needs a radio to sleep so being able to shut the door to the bedroom allowed for us to get a good night sleep and for him to be able to get his sleep with the radio on the living room area. I loved having a coffee maker in the room so that I could get hot water for my afternoon/evening cup of tea. Having a mircowave was great too.

We were so spoiled with all that we got for the price at this hotel that moving to the Royal Pacific Resort at Universal was a small letdown. Yes we were able to use our hotel key as an Express Pass but we had to really, really pay for it. For us that was the only advantge to staying onsite at Universal.

And to answer my own question there were no extra fees and the hotel is close to the DTD area.

I'd like to pass along a tip for families that wouldn't be able to stay here based on their size. Homewood Suites is a sister company to Embassy (Hilton Group) and they have two bedroom suites and a foldout couch. You can for a great price get two bedrooms that each have two beds plus the foldout couch, kitchen area, two bathrooms, breakfast and manger's reception M-Th. There is even one in the same area as the Embassy Suite Lake Buena Vista. Have never actually stayed here but if it's anything like the EBS it will be good.

Its been several years, but we loved the Doubletree in DTD, free breakfast. Discounts on mousesavers.com
