I would check at a GoodWill or conginment shop. They usually have full sets in many varieties and brands.
I've seen some beautiful full sets at both places, and you can find some truly vintage pieces too.

Go to Replacements.com and you can probably find your missing pieces.

Not for everything. Dillards discontinued my Christmas dishes. I've searched Ebay and Replacements for pieces and had no luck.

We have the set from IKEA that is a 6 place setting set for about $30. I bought 2 sets so we would have plenty. I have broken 1 dinner plate, but it was totally my fault, I dropped it and it hit the tile.

Another vote for Fiestaware! I love mine. So many fun colors and excellent quality.

I've had Fiestaware for the past few years and I don't think I will ever get rid of it. Sturdy pieces that are made in the USA. Also it is easy to build on your collection and add colors/styles.

Me too I bought the pink plates and some grey ones LOVE them
