Hi All,

I will be celebrating my 45th Bday in the happiest place on earth this october. My birthday is the 11th, and is on one of the scary halloween party dates. I figured we would leave the park early, as both will probably get very crowded as the day progresses.

Any one have a nice recommendation for dinner within 30 miles of DLR? Of course Club 33 sponsors are very welcome to help! Hee Hee.

We have two kids who are great at dinner. We were thinking of Lawry's, but with traffic, it might be over an hour drive.

Thanks for suggestions. Stacy

Wasn’t sure if you were actually attending the MHP or not, but I would suggest the dinner on a non-party night. If you are paying extra for the party tickets, take full advantage of your time in DL.

If you are staying near DL, there are plenty of nice restaurants that you can walk to or take a short drive to. Napa Rose would be my first choice for a celebration dinner-GCH Hotel. Steakhouse 55 at the DL Hotel is pretty nice for dinner as well. Offsite I would recommend McCormick and Schmicks at the Garden Walk or Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen in DTD.

I am sure there are some locals that have their favorites as well. Have a great time.

My son's current favorite restaurant is Morton's Steakhouse down the street. I still like Steakhouse 55 better, but Morton's gives a really nice birthday menu as a souvenir. :)

Hi, sorry I was not clear. We are AP holders, and will not attend the party. We thought it would be crowded, so we would go outside the resort for dinner.

thanks so much for the suggestions so far. Any more? Thanks

There is a Buca Di Beppo near DLR just down the street on Harbor Blvd. Last time we visited Disneyland we went back to our hotel in the afternoon for a swim and a nap, had dinner at Buca, then made it back into the park in time for F!, fireworks, and more rides. It seemed to work out quite well.

Hope you have a Happy Birthday! I will be there on October 1 for my dad's birthday. We are planning on getting him a it's my birthday pin/button from City Hall (he has no idea) and we think he is really gonna enjoy it!:thumbsup2

I haven't been there for a number of years but the Cellar in Fullerton had good french food and I've read that the inside was designed by some of the imagineers. Romantic place.

Napa Rose is wonderful. Hard to beat it if you like very elegant dining.
There's also a Ruths' Chris steakhouse down the road - about the same price as Morton's but I personally prefer it ( the steaks come in a platter of sizzling butter - so bad for you and so tasty!)

Roy's Hawaiian is nearby and very good too if you like seafood. Get on their email list for coupons ( just got one for $20 off).

Lawry's is good but hard to get too ( assuming you mean the Beverly Hills loc). It would definitely be an hour.
They own a similar place called the Five Crowns near the beach in Corona Del Mar. That would probably be a less stressful drive ( no downtown LA)

thanks to all who posted! I looked up the menus, and it looks like Napa Rose, although fancy, still has a kids menu. We will just head to the hotel and change into some " fancy duds" prior to our seating.

Thanks ALL> stacy

I ate at Napa Rose about a year and a half ago when we were there. It was amazing. It's a little pricey but not too over the top, considering it is a Disney upscale restaurant. And I think you qualify for a discount with your AP.

Have fun at the Napa Rose. I wonder if I'll ever get to eat there.

I wish I had friends in high places that could get me into club 33. :)
