Nice Beach Resort

Does anyone know of any really nice beach resorts not too far from DW? We would like to do try the cruise and land, but get seasick so that is not a good option for us.

Are there any really nice places in FL or is it better to just fly to the Bahamas? We would love to find a great resort with a great beach within driving distance to Orlando since we already have to deal with the 5 hour flight to Florida.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Disney has a beach resort, Vero Beach is about an hour or so from WDW. the resort is beautiful, right on the beach and ahs many activities.

Not a resort but Anna Maria Island is beautiful about 2 hours from Orlando. I've heard that the beaches on the gulf are the prettiest.

You should try Hammock Beach Resort, its about 30 minutes north of Daytona, its pricey, but has something for everyone..

Second the idea of Disney's Vero Beach Resort! It's great!

I would recommend the Gulf coast beaches...Clearwater, St Peter, Bradenton/Sarasota (ala Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key, Longboat Key).

They're all within 2 hours of WDW.

I have to chime in with Disney's Vero Beach.

But I have another pleasent experience not far from WDW. We went to a college open house in November and stayed at the Doubletree Suites (all ocean front balconies) in Melbourne. It was exactly a 1 hour drive for us from WDW if you want something close.
