Niagara Traval Agent-Disney based

I never said FD&D didn't do it all. She happens to be an expert at WDW just like many other good agents who sell Disney. I said she specializes in WDW she is not an expert in all things Disney. :)

I'm not sure why you like to degrade or attempt to put that travel agency down (in this case/thread, spreading false info) at any chance you get? I've had nothing but great experiences with them and by them, I mean different agents there, not just one for both DCL and WDW.

Before they went strictly Disney as it turned out to be their bread and butter, I had even booked all-inclusive vacations through them. Heck, the agency owner saved my butt when Conquest vacations went under in 2009 and I wasn't stranded in Honduras or out extra $1000's to come home like other travellers there.

Do you run a travel agency that competes all the way other there in Alberta? What's your vested interest with an agency in some town outside of Toronto?

Humm...I looked into using Click the Mouse way back when, but they aren't registered with TICO. The Direct Air fiasco is yet another example as to why I won't book my vacations with anyone but a TICO registered agency.

I have no doubt that the ladies from Click the Mouse are nice, but one of the biggest reason for me to use a TA is security. But each to their own of course.

Another vote for Fairytale Dreams & Destinations. I'm using them for our cruise this year. Kathryn there has been just wonderful. I usually book my DW vacations myself but only because I rent DVC points to stay.

Saying goodbye to my luggage in Detroit and finding it magically waiting in my room later that day is a fabulous perk and saves so much time at the airport. :woohoo:

Man, I WISH. My first experience with DME was so horrible, that I'll never let them pick up my luggage again. :sad2:

Plus, I can't wait to change into my shorts when I hit the Florida sunshine, especially in the winter when I leave TO in jeans and a sweatshirt. So I like changing right at the airport. Yes, I'm that guy. :lmao:

But the TICO logo is on their website????

http://clickthemouse.ca/

Can't see them getting away with that were they not registered with them?

I didn't think we could recommend any agency not affilliated with these boards then?
No?

But the TICO logo is on their website????

Dunno. Like I said, TICO says they aren't registered. :confused3 Perhaps they just pasted the logo just like some TA's who aren't EarMarked do of the Authorized Disney Vacation Planner one??

Can't see them getting away with that were they not registered with them?

They could get away with it if they've never been reported, no?

I didn't think we could recommend any agency not affilliated with these boards then? No?

Oh sure you can, I've seen all kinds of different agencies being recommended on the DCL section. :)

Great! Straight from the "horses mouth" so to speak!!

I totally agree, there are awesome Disney agents out there at many different locales! They also sell other vacations and give their all to ensure the trip from start to finish is the best it can be. To each his own..finding the one that you mesh with and serves you well is key!

:thumbsup2

Although I like to plan and book myself these days, I think I was a WDW TA in a past life :rotfl: one thing to mention about having a TA is- that if anything goes wrong with your reservation, have a problem at the resort with room- not what you booked, etc, if you go thru a TA, you have someone to go to bat for you. An acquaintance of mine is a TA, and she told me about a frantic phone call she recieved from a client, and had to phone Disney to sort it out. Her client wasn't getting anywhere with them.

Look, I am a TA. It's not rocket science folks!!! What it comes down to is either you don't want to do the legwork-or you do. Some folks enjoy it , some want to be taken care of to the minutest detail.

I just express posted to a client a cornucopia of cruise documents, flight e-tickets,car rental paperwork, pre cruise hotel info, Kennedy Space Center booking, Post cruise Disney resort info, Park maps, Disney DVD, latest Disney cruise brochure. 3 pages of dining reservations and 21 pages of itinerary from the minute he leaves his home until he returns. He's a very busy man and doesn't want any part of it. So here I am....

That said, I can tell you if I booked my own resort or any other Disney booking and there was an issue, I would not need a TA to sort it out!!

We offer a great service and for some people it isn't wanted and for some it is. It's finding that place that makes us happy. :confused3

My post was already taken down :(. Oh well, at least some of you saw it :)

Another TA here, and Minnie is right on the mark! There are some people who want all the control over every aspect of their planning and booking, and those people are better off taking care of things themselves. I find that the majority of my clients are first-timers who aren't quite sure, and they feel more comfortable booking with me. I'm honoured when they enjoy their experience dealing with me such that they choose to continue booking future trips with me!

Hands down the best Disney travel agents I have ever worked with is clickTheMouse. The ladies know every nook and cranny of planning and booking the perfect Disney vacation. The discounts, the dining, the activities, the best rooms etc! clickTheMouse held a workshop in Mississauga on how to plan a great Disney vacation. They are so good they are often mentioned in newspapers and on Breakfast Television. They are experts in all of North American Disney parks and cruises not just WDW like FD&D.

I never said FD&D didn't do it all. She happens to be an expert at WDW just like many other good agents who sell Disney. I said she specializes in WDW she is not an expert in all things Disney. :)

I had to go back and re-read this. Yes, you did say that. It's just the way it's worded it came across (to me anyways) that you meant FD&D only dealt with WDW and not other Disney aspects. Thank for the clarification! I just did not want people who might be considering FD&D to misunderstand.

Funny I was going to say the same thing. You are pretty jumpy to defend FD&D. Sounds like you are the only person on here with a vested interest. She is zero threat to me. If it is all lies why isnt she on here defending herself?
I work in the oil and gas industry. There are lots of fantastic options for booking a Disney vacation. I have used Dreams Unlimited in the past and they gave me stellar customer service. There are a lot of wonderful Disney travel agents on the Dis board and in Canada. Some (dare I say it) even better than FD&D including clickTheMouse (being a good Disney travel agent also means being a nice person too). Get over it and move on yawwwn.

Lots of people like FD&D and will defend them. Nothing odd about that. Just like you are recommending a TA that you like, so will others. And yes, there very well could be other TA companies better than FD&D - but do not put down FD&D or other TA's. I'm obviously not the only one felt that was implied in your posts. You may not have meant for that, but it did come across that way.

FD&D will not be on here to defend themselves. No need when they have many happy customers ready to on their behalf, right? I onced asked my FD&D TA if she was on DIS and she said none of them are allowed to. I did not ask why. I figured it was the owner's decision and her right. Besides, while other companies can become a paid sponsor and then advertise their business, I do not believe TA's can. So again, not allowed by DIS as well.

Does FD&D sponsor these boards?
Just wondering...

I didn't think we could recommend any agency not affilliated with these boards then?
No?

No, FD&D does not sponsor these boards. Dreams Unlimited is the sponsor (and owner to my understanding from what I have read).

While other companies can become a paid sponsor and then advertise their business, I do not believe TA's can. However, DIS has allowed the talk and recommendations of TA's. When posting a company weblink, if it is on their "not allowed" list - the link will automatically become a bunch of ***'s so no one can link to it.

Personally, you couldn't be way more off on the mark than you are. I think to a lot of people, it has nothing to do with wanting to actually DO the leg work. I LOVE doing legwork on my vacations, and always do. Especially my Disney vacations.

The reason I posted this question originally was to find help on finding a travel company who knew Disney best. Im not looking for someone to plan a hotel stay for me. I can do that.

I have several upcoming cruises through DCL that I would like to have a travel agent for. Not because I DO NOT want to do the leg work. Leg work is done. It just needs booking. BUT, if there are problems with flights and transfers. I make a phone call and it's basically out of my hands. A GOOD travel agent takes care of my worry while Im on vacation. Because IM ON VACATION. I do not need to stress of what they should be doing. That is a travel agent's job. If there is a problem, they need to deal with it.

I certainly don't NEED a travel agent. I have been booking all my own trips since I was a teenager. BUT, seeing as they are now consisting of more complex travel plans, where if A doesn't work or is delayed, then B may not happen. And if I'm suppose to be relaxing and on vacation, I don't want to deal with the stress and details. It's what Im using said travel agent for.

BUT, thank you to everyone for giving me all the options. I am looking into them all:thumbsup2

Well said! :thumbsup2 I am the same - I love the legwork but for a Disney trip of any kind, I would not book it any way other than through our wonderful TA - peace of mind and easy access to their many years of experience with all things Disney is fantastic
