My dh and 6 yo son plan on going this month to Niagara Falls to see the festival of lights. I am looking for a clean inexpensive hotel with an indoor pool for under $100 including tax and the rotten tourist fee of 3%. There are many reviews on tripadvisor but some reviews of hotels are too glowing and then on the other hand it sounds like it is the worse hotel ever and the reviewer has never ever placed a review before that one.

We had a great stay at the Country Inn & Suites a couple of years ago. There was a large indoor pool and hot tub, good hot and cold breakfast buffet (included in the rate), and it was within walking distance of Clifton Hill. Parking was pretty reasonable, about $6 or $8 a night. You didn't say exactly when they were planning on going, but other than the US Thanksgiving weekend, it appears to meet your price requirements perfectly.

We stayed at the Doubletree Hilton Fallsview last year. Indoor pool, great view, comfy beds. It looks like it's about $89 for most nights through December although a few are $129.

We love to stay at the Comfort Inn on Clifton Hill. Prices for Saturday nights in November are $97.75 per night - plus tax though, and I think they charge for parking now too. But we love the location. There is a pool and hot tub plus it includes breakfast in the morning. :)

We always stay at the Hampton Inn River Road. Always use the Hilton MVP code ( a quick Google search will find it) it isn't right on the strip but not far. Great Breakfast and indoor pool and hot tub. I can get it anywhere from $75.00 to $99.00 we also stayed at the Rodeway Inn. An older hotel but room was very very clean and nice.

Our choice as well, good location, clean, affortable, nice breakfast.

If you check out sites like livingsocial.com or travelzoo, they often have hotel/waterpark deals at Niagara. Livingsocial.com currently has a deal for Americana Waterpark and Spa, $99 includes hotel for one night and 2 days of waterpark passes for 4, also some restaurant and spa vouchers (Monday through Thursday only). The deals come and go often, so although this one may expire shortly, another may pop up. We live less than a half hour drive to the Falls, although we don't go nearly enough. Too much Disney I guess. good luck!

Ditto for Wagjag and Groupon. Both offer deeply discounted hotel deals, often with attractions or other perks included.

OP, while the Americana deal offered at Livingsocial might be just a smidge above your budget once taxes and fees are added, the waterpark would be perfect for your 6 year old ::yes:: .
