Last Saturday I went to a Red Wings pre-season game against Pittsburgh. Being a pre-season game, I was able to snag a very cheap front row seat... right behind the goal. Joe Louis Arena allows camera with lenses under 80mm, so I decided to take my D70 and 18-70 along.

Here I am, as seen from the bench (I'm the one in the red jersey behind the Blue Cross logo cross):

Now on to my images:

NHL? I'm from Boston. Do we still have a team here? :lmao:

NHL has been a bad word around these parts for the past, oh say about 15 years? Since the good old days of Cam Neely, Craig Janney, Ray Bourque, etc. Now that was hockey! I still like to watch my Bruins get beat up once in awhile though. Can't afford to go to a game though! That is one big reason why I think the interest level in the team is going downhill. The lack of talent that they have displayed sure doesn't help either.

Nice shots of the Red Wings!

Great Pics!:thumbsup2 Awesome sport!!!:goodvibes However, I'm a MN Wild fan-(from MN), and I couldn't get 5 tickets in a row for my family on the second day of sales:mad: So NHL is VERY big here in MN! Go Wild!!

Nice shots Geoff, though I'm with Andy. The Bruins are 4th in line as a pro franchise in Boston and it is a VERY VERY distant 4th, especially after what the Celtics did in the off season and how well the Pats and Sox are doing.

Though the Bruins did make a big splash yesturday and named Cam Nealy a VP of on ice operations. Wont sell tickets, but he will certainly make his mine be heard in player development and free agency.

Another wings fan here!! Great pics....Thanks for sharing!

In fact, I might even say my old alma mater, Boston College, is more populat than the Bruins out here! With the dedication to the pro teams and so many colleges, college sports get no love in the northeast.

Fantastic shots. My season tickets are in the second row at our arena (AHL baby penguins), and I've tried to get shots as good as yours, but my point and shoot camera just isn't up to the challenge. The only time I get a get a fairly crisp picture is when there's a pause in play.
