NHL 2022/2023 season thread

No he wasn't in harms way. If he was still in the crease then yes it should have been blown down but he was not in the net and he was not trying to play.

But, if a player loses their lid, even if they’re on the opposite side of the ice they have to go right to the bench or risk a penalty. It was a blown call and we were lucky it didn’t cost us the game.

The commentators on HNIC didn't think so.

How about some AHL action?

Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins at Hershey Bears

They played a bear growling sound after every Hershey goal.

I don’t know how much the seats in this nosebleed section cost, but overall prices were very reasonable.

Second row around curve cost $32.50

Hershey led 3-2 after the first period, then WBS scored 5 goals in the first 7 minutes of the second period. It remained 7-3 until the end.

I've loved Blake Wheeler since I saw him play the first time in HS, I loved watching him play at the U of M, I even enjoyed watching him play in Boston and love the player and captain he has become in Winnipeg. But this is an insane level of toughness. He had a testicle ruptured by blocking a shot on 12/15, finished the game, then had it checked out. He returned to action last night.

He’s a bad…butt.

I can’t imagine how painful that must have been.

We had a lot of conflicting thoughts about him over the summer. The city was split between having him retire, and shipping him off to Florida to reunite with Maurice.

Bowness has turned the ship around and we are headed in the right direction. Fun time to be a fan!

Penguins have been disappointing since the new year. Have had some injuries, but just aren’t playing well. Another OT loss today after a bad line change gives the devils a PP in OT.

Well, the games are fun to watch again so I don't want to jinx my Wings. At this point it is just nice seeing them come together as a team. There is a Wings game tomorrow night, MSU has a basketball game at noon and the first Tiger Spring Training game is televised Monday evening. Life is good.

So, the center for my daughter's school's hockey team is Danny Briere's kid....

Texted her last night, "So, little drama up there at school?" She replies, "OMG!!! Yeah!!!"
