Those of you in NH...can anyone give me the names, locations, of some campgrounds with cottages? My dd, 30, is looking to 'camp' but not in tents, with 5 other girls this fall...probably Sept. They are looking for rustic cabins, just need beds, running water and inside bathroom. Dd says she is not pitching a tent but doesn't want a 4 star hotel either. They want to canoe, kayack, hike..that sort of thing. I'm clueless, so thought that perhaps the DIS community could, one more time, help with some thoughts. Thanks a lot guys.

I do not camp but others here at work do. I sent out an email and will post any feedback.

Here you go:

The place I camp at is called Danforth Bay camping resort in Freedom NH. They have cabins - they rent canoes and kayaks - and there are lots of places to hike in that area... here's the website for more information:

www.danforthbay.com

Note: I have heard of this place and the girl that told me, goes there often so I'm sure it's very nice.

Thanks, that looks great. I'll let her know.
Any others?

Here is the ultimate "camping" experience. It may not be what you are looking for, but we really loved it!

The Lantern Resort in Jefferson is a beautiful campground with a very clean hotel. The hotel guests are invited to participate in all the campground activities, and then get to go to their own rooms for the night - complete with coffee maker, fridge, microwave and bathroom. There is a girl who comes to your room if you want, and reads bedtime stories to your kids.

We went up there last week, and paid $100 per night mid week. I think we willl be going again some time.
