I noticed people from other states are sending out a "Hello" and I was curious how many NH people own DVC. I have been living out my Disney dreams all winter listening to other peoples trips and mine is slowly getting closer.

I would love to hear from other DVC'ers snowbound in NH.

HI! Nice to greet you. I'm very snowbound and counting the days...48...

Another NH family here! We are soooo ready for this winter to be over.

We're heading to SSR 4/19-4/26 and then AKV 4/26-4/28. Looks like Poohgirl will be getting there about the middle of our stay!

Let's hope this weekend's storm passes quickly without causing much trouble.

Great to hear from you! We are at SSR 4/20-4/25 w/ DH and DD 14. Have a great trip. This winter seems to never ending.

Is your school out that week? Ours is the week after.

stacieps - we are doing just the opposite, first AKV then SS. Love them both!

Stay dry!

Our schools (Laconia) are off April 21-25.

This is our first trip to both SSR and AKV. The only DVC properties we've stayed at are OKW and BCV.

I'm looking forward to it. Seems like it might be a busy week, so maybe I'll hang out at the resort more and relax!

From Dublin, NH and down in WDW now....glad to be getting away from that place, unfortunately have to come back next Thurs....:goodvibes

Hi all! 42 days for us until VWL and AKV (Concierge!)!!

It keeps us going through all of the nasty storm systems that come through....got my Disney Park music playing as I write!:goodvibes

Hi! I'm in Merrimack and I'm counting down until my AKV conceirge stay in May. I am definitely tired of the snow and ready for spring!

Hello from Lebanon. Can't wait for all this white stuff to leave. I am tired of it. Looking forward to my next trip home in Nov :)

Do any of you drive to Disney World? We usually go to Hilton Head for spring break and drive but this year we are going to DW and my husband is insisting on driving. Yikes! I wasn't able to find great airfares this year so we are going to try the drive.

We've never driven - considered it a few times, but the time gained at WDW by flying has always won out over cost of flights....

Just curious how long it takes to drive to Hilton Head. I'm in MA so the driving time would be similar for us. Thanks!

We did the "drive" once in 1989. As I recall we travelled from Rochester NH to Petersburg VA the first day, and arrived in WDW around 5:00 PM of the second day. With 3 kids in the car, marathon straight-thru driving wasn't an option but if one was inclined to do that, I have heard it's approximately 24 hours travel time from this area.

We actually don't mind driving to HH because we are able to bring our kayaks, golf clubs and my husbands guitar. We usually leave from Waterville Valley around 3am Saturday and arrive at HH Sunday around 4pm. We spend the night somewhere in between and never the same place twice. DW is only supposed to be an additional 5 hours so I'm willing to give it a try at least once.

I just finished calculating this out a few weeks ago. Given current gas prices, tolls, food, and one night hotel stay in each direction, the total savings of driving over flying (based on a family of 4) was something like $430.00. Not nearly enough of a savings, IMO...when you consider the wear and tear on your vehicle, the wear and tear on the family, and the fact that you lose several days of your vacation. (Obviously, there are a ton of variables at play here...the type of gas mileage you get and what kind of deal you can get on airfare to name a few...)

Even though the distance is not that much different than WDW, this makes more sense to me. One, you are brining a ton of stuff to HH, so it helps not to have to worry about how you are going to get all of that down there. Secondly 4-5 days is often enough at HH, whereas at DW, you are just getting warmed up after 4 days. :goodvibes

My DD and I would love to fly but DH has a new small diesel RV (aka man toy) to drive. I anticipate that when he gets tired of driving the toy we will go back to flying again. It generally is cheaper to fly or close to it but in DH's opinion it takes the fun out of the trip because you can't use the GPS, back-up camera and other electronic gadgets for two days straight. I love that he gets enjoyment from his toys and I still go to Disney.
