The family and I went to the beach on Sat. figuring the waves would be great to boogie board on. The waves were about 2-4 feet with some a bit higher.
On Sunday...I returned with my son and folks to see the BIG waves 10-12 feet. The beach was off limits to swimmers and the Beach Patrol and lifeguards were working hard to keep everyone way back from the water line to keep them safe.
As I look at the pictures...they just don't seem to get across the awesomeness of the waves...the POWER of the water.
I hope you enjoy!
This is from Hampton State Park...right by the Jedi
The Jedi
The Jedi and to the right of it...if anyone knows the area...the water to the right is what goes in under the bridge
Hampton State Park
At Salisbury..the waves were pounding the shore pretty hard here today!!
The following were taken on Sunday! Up past the bandshell at Hampton...just about where the turn off to 101 is..
Surf coming in...beach was soon cleared.
North Hampton
Water was coming right up to the wall...
waves were pretty big...the surfers were standing on the sidewalk with the rest of us...too rough to go in at this point...just about high tide now.\

) about an hour before high tide. At high tide there were no rocks left and the water was just rolling over and crashing inside the merrimac river
