Why was the Chargers/Raiders delayed by rain for half an hour when they're playing in a domed stadium? Perspiring minds wanna know.

It's LA. They don't know what to do with actual weather.

Yeah - I went to Disneyland once on this particularly rainy day. It was comical the way people acted, mostly on the street oustide of the parks, which I think were full of toruists from places where it actually rains! The park was empty and it was great, but I was surprised as the drainage issues and leaky roofs. They really are not prepared for it at all!

I don't know what the SoCal experience has been. But here in South Florida, where we get 60+ inches of rain each year, NOone (not even a tourist) has ever melted.

I remember reading about and/or seeing on TV a report about a Houston Astros game in the Astrodome being delayed or “rained out” some 40 years ago. There was a vicious thunderstorm in the area about 2 hours before game time with flash flooding making many roads impassible. Most fans and stadium workers couldn’t access the stadium. The players were already there for practice.

Hello neighbor.

A few years ago we went to Vegas on one of the like 4 days it rains there and people were losing their minds. LOL

When Mercedes Benz Stadium opened in Atlanta the roof was not done. Even once they got it to a point where the roof could open and close reliably, it leaked, bad!

Some neighbors went to a band competition and their kids got soaked who were performing on the field.

It was at least a year post construction before the roof was deemed waterproof.

Part of the problem in CA when it rains are the roads. Because they don't get much rain, nothing is washed from the roads. When it does rain, the roads get slick from oils left behind by the massive amount of cars. The pavement is like an ice soaking rink. Brother used to live there and said when it rains, get off the roads.

First time we went to WDW, first day it started to rain. Never seen anything like it, just pouring. No one seemed to care. They told us it would stop in an hour and it did. Yes we freak out in California when it rains. 1/4" will bring the storm watch bulletins on the news

This is the issue in Vegas. We’re not “losing our minds” because it’s raining, it’s because it turns the roads into slip and slides. I’m more likely to go out if it’s pouring vs lightly raining off and on.
