Just returned from Orlando on Friday. Entered our Nexus numbers while printing our boarding passes. Got the "Pre Check" on our boarding passes. Took the Pre Check lane at the airport and we were at the gate in minutes. Been doing this for the last 4 or 5 trips.

chimo2u, in Fort Lauderdale I was not able to use my Nexus card when I flew West Jet. The security person there told me that West Jet doesn't participate in the trusted traveler program even though West Jet customer service told me it wouldn't be a problem to use my card in Fort Lauderdale. Like you, I couldn't add my number online. Be prepared as you will most likely not be able to use your Nexus card in Orlando.

As of early October 2015, westJet participates in TSA Pre-Check:

Hmm. Good question. I think it is just a U.S. - Canada based security program. Not sure though.

I'd imagine you can use it coming back from any international destination, provided it is available and open. This is not based on experience, we've only used ours travelling to the US so far.

ETA: Here you go. From the CBSA website:

Entering Canada by Air
NEXUS members using the air mode of transportation can enter Canada using the self-serve kiosks regardless of where they are coming from. For example, a NEXUS member returning to Canada from overseas and arriving in Montréal can use the self-serve kiosk in Montréal.

All persons entering Canada by air must complete a CBSA Declaration Card.

You can use Nexus for international travel.
At the kiosks and the expedited lane through security.
