Sorry for the off topic (ill get back to it in a second buuuut.....) I do understand yours and Nytimes points entirely, and as someone who has only had the chance to visit WDW this side of the millennium I'm perhaps fortunate to not know what im missing out on (although a quick jump on
YouTube and I get very jealous of some of the things ive missed!)
I suppose all im saying is there is still so much to enjoy over and above the little niggling things people dislike e.g
DDP, resort specific merchandise, DTD clubs, Stitch etc etc... but a lot of people have perhaps had too much of a good thing over the years which has led to an an ever increasing desire to see and expect more and more innovation day after day.
Everyday hundreds of new people experience WDW for the first time, think its the greatest place in the world and it changes their lives forever. Then in their excitement they come on the forums here to find out more about the place and are greeted with countless posts and threads in all categories from Disney veterans who harp on about how it, like music, films etc, was so much better in their day...
Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't - but over the last decade the tourism industry has changed a whole lot and country after country has been hit by recessions and natural disasters, so maybe we all need to be a little more appreciative that such a wonderful luxury like WDW is still even in operation for so many to enjoy.
