So we finally decided we are going to visit Disney in California for next spring break. It’s a little further away than I wanted but I will take it as we will be going for eight nights. I know every year Easter is at a different time and depending on the area spring break varies for us our spring break is always the week leading up to Easter Sunday so I imagine at the parks there’s a little consistency with crowds as it’s the same for lots of people. If you visited Disneyland this past week leading up to today how are the crowds or how are they compared to other weeks prior to Easter? I’ve read so much about Disneyland is so different than Disney World and planning and able to do so much more even when it’s crowded so I’m hoping that we are able to do a lot over spring break I have always refused to go to Disney World during an actual holiday. Bc I can’t deal with the wall-to-wall people when walking around and waiting long for almost everything! I’m so excited to experience the FP system at the land!!! Thanks!

My daughter (8 years old) and I just returned from a week at Disneyland from Saturday 4/13 through yesterday (4/20). We were very pleasantly surprised at how manageable the crowds were. I think a big factor is the blackouts for annual passholders (especially the local passes), which were all in force during our visit. Our busiest day was last Saturday, our first day. Even then, we did not wait much longer than 30 minutes for any ride, and that was at the height of the day. We rode 18 rides on Saturday, including all of the big ticket ones (literally every ride that offers FP in both parks, except Buzz). Sunday was probably equally crowded, but it was a Dapper Day and many people were not really riding rides or seeing shows (they were the show). Longest wait that day for us was probably 15 minutes, if that. Both weekend days had ample FP/MP availability throughout the day. Monday was practically empty; most rides were walk ons, and every ride but RSR had FP/MP availability from open practically through close. Tuesday and Wednesday we were at Knott's and Magic Mountain, so I can't speak to those. Thursday we were back at Disney, and the crowds remained pretty light. Friday seemed a little busier heading into the holiday weekend, but there were also several ride breakdowns that caused things to back up elsewhere. Still not bad. Overall, crowds and lines were much lower than we expected given spring break/pre-Easter week. If you have a good touring plan, make good use of MaxPass (or even just regular FP), and take advantage of the lower crowds in the hours just after opening and before closing, you should be in good shape. Our plan each day was to get up early and RD, go hard until lunch, then go back to hotel after lunch for a swim and a rest, returning to the park in the early evening with multiple FPs stacked for the night, and then ride to our hearts content until park close. My TR, once I write it up, will have more details, but those were the basics from this past week. Happy to help answer specific questions or give more detailed advice if you want. Happy planning!

Thats great to hear. I know every year will be different and SWGE will be open and in full swing so who knows how many more people that will bring over holidays but Im sure we'll be ok. We'll have a good plan and get advice on what days to visit each parks. We will also do Max pass as well.
