I carry :
wallet
cell phone
compact
lip gloss
burt's bees (like chap stick but minty)
gum
change for the pressed pennies machines
camera
hand lotion (the soap in the bathrooms dries my hands out)
hand sanitizer
gloves
sunglasses
pen
small notebook (in case I have a list of things I want to check out , usually stuff that you guys have mentioned, that I don't want to forget. )

sunscreen
a loose long sleeve shirt
a wash cloth (nice to "wash up" after a long sweaty day in the park
a zip lock bag

I usually carry a small messenger bag , but during the summer, I carry a back pack so I can carry extra water.
