Next E-Ticket Wish List

I looked for a features request/wish list for the next version of E-ticket, but couldn't find it. If there is one, please kindly merge or close this for that.


Like E-Ticket a lot...

For the next version My wish list is...

Access to Dining Menus from main page (Similar to WDW Dine)

Showtimes, Fantastic and Parade hours under the Park Hours section (Similar to the Park Hours App)

Ability to quick select Airlines, hotels, categories in the Itinerary feature. (Similar to Mouse Memo)

List of Discounts for various groups such as AP holders, DVC, AAA, etc available from main page (similar to WDWPal)

Link to a Weather Forecast for the Day, or just post the Forecast for the Day on the main page. (Similar to WdWeather)

The ability to view a map section by it self instead of as part of a bigger map... so allow me to have JUST the magic Kingdom map open and no way to accidently jump to another part of WDW Property.


Overall great work. Keep it up and hopefully some of the user suggestions will help with the next version.

Love, love, love eTicket. Thanks, guys for all the hard work on this!

I'd like to add to the wishlist a way to see Subscribed Threads on the DISboards, or some way to quickly access my top threads without having to navigate all the way through the boards.

I have also noticed a quirk of the boards on eTicket where if you click on a thread you want to read it starts you from the end rather than the beginning. I guess I can see advantages to that also, but for most new threads that I want to read I like to see the first post first.

I noticed that too, but it doesn't bother me as I find it's easier to find where I left off in a thread.

I guess it's kind of a personal preference. It's nice if it's a thread I was reading, but not so nice if it's a thread I am reading for the first time.

TOtally agree on the subscribed threads thing...

As for the post order... maybe the option to choose the first or the last post?

It's nice the way it is on the full version, where you can click "View First Unread" to jump to where you left off. I'm not sure how hard that would be to duplicate on the mobile version.

I'd like a thing to enter parking. Since they know all the lot section names (or can drive past and write 'em down), maybe they could work them in to make it easier than typing it out. Sometimes it's hard to see the screen in the sunshine.

I'd also like to be able to enter the number of cars down the lane I am. I always count as I walk to the tram stop so that I'll remember how far down the lane it is instead of us saying, "Were we this far down? We couldn't have been. We must be in the wrong lane..." and wandering around. But I frequently forget.

A place to enter "My room number" that is easily accessed when I have to find my room.

Or not. But that's about all I can think of that I'd like added.

Both my big desires are related to me being lost. Says a lot more about me than the app, lol.

We do have the ability for users to enter their own custom Points of Interest on the map itself. But you can only see this ability if you are in the immediate resort area and have GPS activated. We're trying to save your battery by not having GPS on all the time. Besides, GPS doesn't do you much good anyway in a Disney app if you spend most of your time at home in Montana!

eTicket will display a clear blue star on your current location and you can click this star, call it anything you want, and even attach a note to the location. Your "Custom POI" is now a clear red star that will stay on the map until you delete it. You can even filter the map for Custom POI. This should be able to handle things like you mentioned...parking spots, hotel rooms, photo locations, the list is endless.

Some of you may have heard that we had a problem this week with eTicket and had to remove it from sale. We're fixing a major bug with date selection now that we rolled into 2010.

As soon as this bug is fixed, we're starting work on adding the ability to attach a note to ANY of the existing POI. This will allow you to add your dining reservation numbers to the restaurants in your itinerary, or remember your top score for Buzz Lightyear, or even make a note about something special that happened durning a show.

I have the DLR one. My wish would be to be able to load the map with all the POI without needing GPS. I can see the map at home with my wireless, but in the park there is no wi-fi. I have an itouch. It would be nice if it just loaded a copy of the map from the last time it was seen via wi-fi. After all, the bathrooms aren't going to change. And if a cart or two happens to be different, no big deal. I don't need to know where I am in the park on the map.

And speaking of maps, what will happen when DCA gets its big overhaul in the next few years? Is the google map going to show the new areas? I don't know how often they refresh areas.

We finally found the problem and corrected this. Clicking the thread title will take you to the first post. Clicking the line below the thread title (with the blue arrow) will now take you to the last post. Thanks for your patience!

My wish would be to include a place to put Disney Cruise line information: Booking information, cabin #, reservation #'s for Founders, Kids Club, Shore excursions, Palo, Dining rotation..etc.

Also, a place to put Towncar reservation numbers would be awesome.

Also, you need to be able to click a link in the boards. When you click a link in a post, it just sits there...
Perhaps this can't be addressed in the app due to the iphone itself, but it's kind of a bummer. Especially when looking at the budget/family boards where the content is about other things (unlike some of the others that are kind of self contained)

BTW: I'm not hating, I bought an Iphone mainly for this app. I was perfectly happy with my blackberry and 6 ipods.

UPDATE: you CAN click a link in the app and go to the website. Apparently I was the only one with this problem. And since my latest firmware update on my Iphone (3.1.2) everything is fine. I run my Iphone on Tmobile, so those using Att will be using at least 3.1.3 currently. So you shouldn't have any issues with this at all.
