NEX help needed please <3

Ok... I tried the Nikon J1 and found it too limited.

I would like to try the NEX

Bestbuy has the NEX f3k with kit lens AND 16mm for $499.99

is that a good deal?

I really dont care to have touch/smash screens but I do plan to shoot LOTS of active toddler shots, as well as low light shots as well.

Will the f3k perform as well as the 5n/r?

or should I just forget the f3k and freebie 16mm lens and snatch a 5n/r?

For active toddlers get the 5r. The PDAF will help with faster focusing. I've owned the Nex 6 and 7 and bought the laea2 for phase detect autofocus. I have a 6 and 2 YO so the Nex'scNex's contrast AF isn't the best at tracking them down. For casual shots the Nex is awesome but I would get the 5r.

With that being said....

The other cameras I've been considering are:

Oly EPM-2
Pentax k-01

I picked the NEx based on low light capabilities

I saw somewherd that you can buy the K-01 and 40mm f2.8 for around $320. My first pick would be the Nex 5r.
