NewYears Eve?

I am planning a 12/30/03 - 01/03/04 trip to my new home BCV. Should I book 2/3/03 (11 mos prior check out date) or should I start earlier and go day by day. I do not want to get shut out.

Also, what special events occur on NYE in Epcot and MGM?

NYE is VERY popular. I would book 12/30 and 12/31 on a day-by-day basis since they are part of the Christmas Week.

All the parks (except AK) stay open late for NYE. The last few years it's been 1:00 a.m. This year, MK will stay open an hour later until 2:00 a.m. with Epcot and MGM closing at 1:00. They have all sorts of extra entertainment in MGM and Epcot....different musicians in every country and super spectacular fireworks at midnight all around WDW. It sounds like the place is under aerial attack.

It's an awful lot of fun but you have to be prepared to go with the flow and deal with the crowds. Think of it as a one big party!

We are currently at BWV, and tonight we received NYE information under our door. The following special events are going on:

Epcot: Illuminations at 7:30 and 11:40, "culminating in a massive fireworks finale"

Disney-MGM Studios: Sorcery in the Sky at 11:50 over the Sorcerer's Hat

MK: Fireworks at 8:30 and midnight

PI: B-52s, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Chris Botti and others, as well as fireworks.

There is the "extra magic hour" at two resorts each day on Dec. 30, 31, Jan 1, 2.
