I was at a conference in October called "Closing the Gap", which is regarding assistive technology (computers and other assistive devices) for children and adults with disabilities. In talking some of the parents there, the thing many were most worried about was what would happen to their children (with a variety of disabilities, not just autism) once they 'aged out' of the school system. We are relatively lucky in Minnesota that there are programs available after school age. Some of the parents I talked to in other states knew there were similar programs in their state, but that there were long waiting lists.
