I need help with my newsletter! I have no idea where to start! Help! I want to send them out thew same time I send my contract in, does anyone have advice for me?

I wrote out some of the information/details that I had available and sent it out with my invitations. I talked about the room block and mentioned you didn't have to stay at one of these hotels, these were the ones discounted, and that you could stay as long as you wanted and still get the discount, etc. I also talked about the time and locations for the dessert party, and a rough itinerary of the wedding day, including information on the bus schedule.
I mentioned I would be mailing another information paccket out closer to the wedding date.

Well 1.5 weeks ago I sent out a much more detailed information packet with exact times of the bus schedule, scheduled events, itineraries, etc. I included some pictures, including a map of the world showcase with an arrow pointing to our wedding ceremony.. a map of the yacht & beach club with an arrow pointing to the reception site... Highlighted the times and put special emphasis on when the bus would pick them up, etc. I kept it simple, but detailed & I thought the pictures would really help people know what was going on.

Now ask me how many people actually seem to have READ through my itinerary :headache: People keep asking me the exact same questions that I plainly put in the itinerary! "how do we get to the wedding? what time is the wedding? Do I need to pay to get into the wedding?" etc etc. It's become a running joke between my fiance and I, he keeps hearing me say over and over again "NOBODY is reading the itinerary!!"

Anyway they aren't the prettiest or best designed "newsletters" but I thought they were good. If you want me to, I can email them to you so you can see (they are 13 megabyte files though).

I did 3.

The first:
*General info
*Why we picked disney
*Where and when we were getting married (with a pic)
*Hotels we picked (with pics) with pricing info
*Discount info
*Ticket info
*Disboard website
*Deb's website
*The 800 number.
*Our contact info

The second had several different sections:

*Disney tips (cost & time saving, as well as comfort)
*Disney tours
*Kids information, free and paid activites for kids, child swap, character finding info, etc...
*Christmas activites around the world (since we were there in December)

The thrid and last:

*Welcome party information
*Park Hours
*Parade & Firework (discriptions, and times)
*Ride closures
*List of everyone going & where they were staying
*Wedding day timeline
*Packing list

As far as anyone reading them, I had 9 guests and 2 read them when they arrived. I think my mil finally read it after I repeatedly answered her questions with it's in the packet I sent you last month.

If you want I can e-mail 2nd and 3rd letters, just pm me if you need them.

Good luck with your planning.

Melissa

we sent 3 newsletters out, the first was a general info about our wedding, planned events & the guests resort (we provided rooms). the second newsletter was an faq with info about what to pack, airline contacts, etc. the third newsletter was the our best of wdw guide, with info about the rides, restaurants & ways to relax at disney. i have a picture posted here of our 1 newsletter & i can try posting the actual info later from home. the newsletters were work but helpful to all our guests. you could also try just creating a website with all the info & email it to your guests.
