I double checked this story myself, since I did not see reported anywhere else, and it is on the Disney FW booking website.

The pool(s) are not closing. The play area and the waterslide are going under refurbishment.

From April 12 through May 2021, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool waterslide and water play area will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool, Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool and other outdoor recreational activities at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground will remain available.

I know some may not, but I like they way they are including the IP. I like the "Disney-ness" of being there so having more characters is good. The Incredibles theme really fits the contemproary and they did it in a subtle way that works really well. The Contemporary is still my favorite hotel and one day I will stay there!

The IP is much needed imo, because if I wanted to just stay somewhere nice, I’d do it off property!

Yeah, and as long as they are incorporating characters that fit the style of the resort, I am all for it!
