News Round Up 2020

Well maybe it can be both. New rides opening will bring more people in. And hopefully the rest of the things they have planned turn out to be great additions to park. I'm still looking forward to the Moana water-feature (or did that get cut?)

And having the festivals keep people like me happy.

And then we are all happy. 😂
I don’t disagree. I enjoy the festivals however it’s also nice to have periods without them and less crowding in World Showcase. All the booths do take up space and especially on weekends make that area much busier. I wouldn’t get rid of the festivals but I don’t think they need to run 24/7 either

I think part of it is Epcot should be more than festivals. Epcot has relied on festivals to bring in people for the last 10 or so years. The park should be able to live on its own. It’s nice to have special events but these festivals are change some colors and repeat one after another.

I agree here that they could spice things up a little with the festivals, and maybe they will by the time their 50th comes around. I think when they dig themselves out of this mess that on the other side Epcot is still a priority project and will become a park that’s more well rounded than the other 3. I’m hopeful, at least. Epcot is still my favorite park, even with its aging flaws

Yeah. But that’s not guaranteed to be a new show. That very well could just be the title of Season 3 of Mando. Deadline is taking a lot of liberties with that story and headline.

It started in July this year.
That's how crazy 2020 has been .. totally forgot that :) .. so ya .. I guess food/wine will just start after that. :)

My main "complaint" about the festivals is they become less special or unique if they last all year long or if they come right after one another or a specific festival lasts 4-5 months.

Do they take anything away from Epcot? No .. but it feels like it has been overused to draw people to an aging park.

This is still not entirely clear. Deadline has been pushing that this is a separate show for over a month. Others have said it’s not a separate project. Lucas film needs to clear this up. Whether it’s a film, a miniseries, or the focus of season 3.

I think they will just not for a few days or so to give people time to see it.

I’m sure they will, but at this point waiting doesn’t help anybody. The story will spiral across the internet regardless, it’s best to clarify early on.
Also supposedly this project has been filming for several weeks already.

That is how I took it. The Din / Grogu story on The Mandalorian is over and next season will be a Boba Fett story

I’m not sure it can be fully over. There are a lot of overlapping series and a lot of unanswered questions. I do see this as a break from Grogu tho.

But does it really matter? Is anyone who watched and enjoyed The Mandalorian NOT going to watch the Boba Fett show regardless if it is Mando Season 3 or it's own show? Will those people not follow Din Djarin to Rangers or another show if that's what they are doing? The shows are a year off - we don't really need to know. I'm down regardless.

I enjoy Thanksgiving week at Epcot because they don't have one going.

I’m watching it all no matter what so... 😂

Something tells me I need to watch the Mandalorian ASAP to be able to click on those "Spoiler" conversations.
Right? I can't watch it until tonight lol.

I would advise avoiding anywhere on the Internet talking about it. We're pretty good here about spoilers, but I'm seeing some stuff floating around out there, even in headlines, so be careful.

Thanks. I had the name spoiled for me (a couple of weeks ago) so I am staying off of Twitter right now.

Kind of. I’m sure most big Star Wars fans are already sold on Mandalorian and several of the others that were announced. If this is a separate project, making that clear may draw in more.
I just don’t see it being beneficial to allow confusion surrounding the brand, and the longer they wait the easier it is for others to be confused. Most people don’t pay much attention to this kind of stuff, except for when it goes viral across the web. So if a correction occurs too late, a lot of people will never know, do it now and secure all that free word of mouth advertising. If they wait until next week, everybody will be talking about Soul and Wonder Women instead.
