It always feels restrictive to me. So it seems that if you’re staying on site you get benefits, not just if you have an AP. Just like with FP reservations. I hate that just bc I have a FL resident AP I feel like second class citizen. I LOVE Disney and wish they would show a little more

Pretty bad when an ABC article has an incorrect opening date listed for Disney World.
This is really how it works with FPs too. An AP can get 7 days or the length of stays. Not length of stays plus 7 days. This has always really bothered me, especially on the out of state APs.

Sounds like a good tour company to avoid. I also feel like this was an excuse for a decision already made. I assume most of the EU will be requiring masks and all of Eastern Asia, so if you aren't willing to travel to places that need masks your options will be pretty limited.

I've also been wondering if that's truly the real reason. I've heard grumblings about possible restrictions for U.S. citizens to come to Europe due to our present amount of cases. I'd be kinda surprised if there was a huge push for Europeans in general (though the restriction is discussing those in the EU) to come travel here.
I think your hunch is right. I wish it weren't but that's my feeling. Here in Texas the Governor just ordered re-opening to scale back. Florida's numbers are no better than ours.
These numbers have been predicted forever. The problem is we have several states and a lot of people that think ignoring reality is an effective strategy.
I guess the key to me would be .. are there huge increase in cases in the counties surrounding Orlando? How many of those are being traced back to the parks that ARE open (Universal, Sea World, Legoland)? Have their been reports of employees there testing positive? If outbreaks are happening at this very public theme parks, then Disney will probably consider a delay. If not, then Disney should be able to open just like other businesses and let everyone assess their own risk despite the rising numbers.
