News Round Up 2020

...I must be an idiot, because I didn't know they weren't real until I saw it on these forums 🙈 But I don't care, and I really doubt most people do. They look cool. I don't find it deceitful.
Yeah, next thing someone will tell me that Disney is misleading the public because the cast of The Country Bear Jamboree is really not real!

I would have to imagine that many "first timers" who visited anywhere near Presidents Day or Mardis Gras will never come back.
It's always interesting to see people's different perspectives on the same thing. We were there the Thursday-Sunday of Princess weekend and didn't find the crowds bad at all, quite manageable actually. Though, we were able to get same day FPs for everything, FOP, SDD, SDMT included, which I'm sure definitely helped us.

The other parks didn't look completely horrible (not great either) but DHS looked miserable. I can't pay $100 bucks per person to barely be able to move around with 3 small children. I would be spending half the time worrying about them being stepped on.

We got lucky with some day of FPs on our last trip, but Day of FPs with a party of 5 at those crowd levels can't exactly be a walk in the park.

Hmm, guess individual experiences will vary but we were there leading ito that weekend and we couldn't get same day FPs for basically anything. Like I would check in early afternoon after we used up our first 3 and the app would say there are literally not FPs left for anything in the park

We were 5 people maybe that impacts things? Or maybe crowds just did get better for the actual weekend vs mid week of that week

We are a fam of 5 as well and never ever have the same great day of FP luck as some others on this board.

Apparently it’s all about drop times. I’ll put that theory to the test next time we are down.

Getting day of FPs can be a challenge for sure, especially as groups get larger. When we travel with my cousin and his family (making our total party 5 people) we break our FP search into a group of 2 and one of 3 and often we have more options that way and can find availability that overlaps.

So I'm not sure if it's partially by design, but seeing the crowds each day travel from our resort to HS leaned us to purchase APs. I couldn't justify spending over $100 for one day of higher crowds vs. spending 2.5X more for a whole year. Parking fees, food and merch. discounts made the decision easier.
