News Round Up 2020

I wonder with the effect of covid if Disney has enough supply for the building of light sabers, its one of the few things I plan for myself at the end of the month and I would hate to not be able to build the light saber I want due to shortage. After all for 200 It would suck if a certain part or piece was missing . First world problems I know

actually got a chance to ride this over President's week and forgot how fun of a ride it is. Not the greatest thing ever but I think it gets undervalued a bit (though may have been a whole "absence makes the heart grow fonder" scenario)

Is there any change to the bumpiness/roughness? I used to like it but it got too rough over the years. I can see SDD going the same way as time passes.

I don’t think they are making Christmas levels worth of money. I think they are understaffing, under performing, reducing capacity to make for a worse guest experience that could be much better. I think they are doing fine financially and that’s an accomplishment. But harming the brand is not.

Well if implementing those operations to reduce the guest experience, has led to 30% of the year becoming XMAS Day level crowds-I shudder to think what the crowds will be if they correct those.

Anybody traveling early May needs to check Southwest. Don't know if it is because of the Carona or not but I just booked my wife and I roundtrip non stop from Indy to Orlando for a grand total of $287!!!:tigger::tigger::tigger:
There are some insanely good travel deals out for end of March through May right now. I've been seeing interline rates on 7nt RCL cruises for $350 pp in Balconies, on the good ships too. The public sales have been good too, but I haven't been watching those as close.

I haven't ever seen rates this low, even in 2009/2010.

Thank you for the heads up!!! Just made a change on our Southwest flight for early May for $144 travel credit!

also i hate to say this but you might be able to snag someones canceled DVC reservation from the DVC board for a good discount because of the covid scare. Its sad that they have to cancel the trip but if you arent against last minute there might be some good deals to be had

While I doubt Disney will discount the summer any more, I do wonder if people will start cancelling trips in March - June as the virus INEVITABLY picks up steam in the United States. I wonder how Disney Parks will respond to that?

They will if they need to. Discounting tickets doesn't mean souvenirs and food are discounted the same way. Full parks generate more revenue, even with lower ticket and resort rates, than not full parks. Disney will start targeting locals more with the discounts. Rely less on flights, and more on drive ups from a 500 mile radius. Target your ads and discounts to those people. We will see if FL gets hit hard. Given the combination of tourism and elderly population, I expect FL is particularly at risk.
