News Round Up 2020

Young adult lit is not the same as children's lit. As a PP pointed out, YA fiction isn't necessarily "dumbed down" but just avoids content that is CLEARLY adult in nature. I enjoy plenty of high-level reading and still thoroughly enjoy YA fiction, and honestly aiming the writing at the YA set is going to appeal to the broadest audience for SW fandom. It's a smart move.
I would even go as far as to say YA includes a lot of adult material too it just allows young adults and adults to feel comfortable reading it.

I couldn't agree more! I've got so many YA books in the collection at my library that are gritty and deal with just as heavy of topics as many adult books. I personally feel like there's often a sincerity in YA books that can feel like it's missing in a lot of adult books. I haven't noticed that in the Star Wars books though.

Our library doesn't have a huge sci-fi audience, but the Star Wars books that are in the YA section circulate a little more than those in the adult department. In the children's department it feels like I can barely keep Star Wars books on the shelf! We just got some newer choose your own adventure ones that are super fun and have been a hit!

Thrawn books are really good hope he shows up in a movie or Disney+ series at some point.

How about bringing back "The Mole" while they are at it. Still my favorite reality competition show ever. (edit: This is relevant because the show was on ABC.)
I love mole celebrity mole wasn't too bad but the Original season was so great. I woulbe very happy with a new season of the mole.

I am very excited they are bringing back Supermarket sweep though.

I still have a feeling that Lucasflm has bigger plans to slowly introduce the Chiss to TV and movies. My wild theory is that more background on the Chiss Ascendancy will be part of Project Luminous, which may be why the new Thawn novel has been delayed. Once the groundwork for the Chiss is established we may see a post ep 9 plotline involving a full on Chiss invasion vs a New Republic/Alliance ??
