News Round Up 2020

FINALLY! Now do this across all MDE apps and sites. Fastpass and Dining and EVERYTHING!
I, for one, wouldn't be in favor of automatically selecting all guests for FP and Dining reservations. Many of my trips have been with groups who do separate touring plans... we don't always stay together and often go to different parks on different days.. It would be just as much effort to un-select guests for example who will not be wanting to ride certain things, or eating at the same time or place that others in the group.

And since guests must be in the park to do the auto select for boarding groups, most of the FPs and ADRs are made well in advance of the trip.

Dining and FP are also made ahead of time so it doesn't exactly work the same way as joining a boarding group where everyone is in the park.

Wouldn't it nice if they could make this a default selection previous to each trip? In other words, during the planning stages you could select either yes or no to include all members in current party plans. For instance yes for ROTR and a no for dinning. Seems a good IT department could do that easily?

The downside is frequent changes that occur during the planning process or separated out planning between traveling parties. Having to select for each FP, each ADR, etc may seem tedious at the onset during the planning but allows for the most flexibility. What may be nice is if there is almost a 1-click option that people can choose to select versus it being an all or nothing. If I was just going to WDW with my husband and my husband alone the 1-click option would likely come in handy. But start adding the in-laws, friends, other relatives, etc and that just may not work out to be good to have the system do.

Yep, I agree. That's sort of what I was trying to say in my otherwise convoluted post, :)
Like you say, if you could just ahead of time click an option whether you want one click for all, or individually select your party each time.

I completely agree! We were planning on booking at Pop, but for $195/night, we are back to considering options. I love Pop, but we're looking at paying more than we did two years ago during peak season, with a dining plan and an extra day in the park. That's hard to justify when they aren't meeting capacity.
i needed to add on one more day to our short trip in September. Staying at Pop on the Friday night was $217. I ended up buying rented points at BLT for that very night for less than $10 more. Since we were going to MK that day it was a no-brainer to stay at BLT in a standard studio so we could walk to MK and eliminate the need for Disney transportation. I wish I could have done this for our first night now as we ARE staying at Pop at about $200 😔
I am of the same mind - make them electric and it improves the smell and noice and make the styling fit with the Tron backdrop and then I think it is a much improved overall experience
THIS. Actually my 6’ dh LOVES the Tomorrowland Speedway. We have to do it every single adult-only trip!

This would really help shave off a few precious seconds

Hotwire has Pop available as a Hot Rate listing for around $89/night (around $110 after tax/fees) for a lot of September dates, if you're comfortable with opaque bookings. 🙂

Yeah, it’s a done deal now and honestly, I’m happy having gone through dreams unlimited for this booking even if it was just for one night plus 3 day park tickets. I always do my own booking but after this Covid situation I’m happy to be able to support the company that is responsible for providing us all with these message boards. I heavily rely on these boards and they have been pained, like a lot of businesses in the travel industry.

Umm, anyone know what's up with this?

Got a notification from the official WDW Facebook page about it.20200824_110704.jpgScreenshot_20200824-110743_Facebook.jpg
