News Round Up 2016

It would be awesome if Dinoland became something else. I mean where does Nemo fit into all of that anyway? Dinosaur is a good ride but the rest of that crap over there is just, well.. crap. Keep Dinosaur open wall off the rest, bulldoze and anything.. literally anything would be better and not to worry, Six Flags will buy up all that crap.

I heard a rumor through the grapevine. It sounds plausible. Once Pandora is finished, the next big project on the table for Animal Kingdom is to get rid of Dinoland USA and it will be replaced with a non-IP immersive land.

Anyone hear anything similar?

I wouldn't bet my vacation budget on this one. I seriously doubt any money will be going into DAK until they settle down and see results from Avatarland. IF that draws additional crowds that require more rides to keep happy, THEN maybe you could see something there - but I bet not until at least after the 50th.

Dinoland USA may be one of the least impressive lands in all of WDW, even if the theming is actually quite extensive. The whole Chester and Hester thing is clever but having your theme be a cheap roadside attraction ends up making your park look like a cheap roadside attraction - the most impressive bit of theming in the land is almost completely unnoticeable: All the plants in Dinoland USA are plants (or variants) that were around 60 million years ago according to fossil records.

Don't forget about that specially aged asphalt.

I really like Dinoland USA. But I know the backstory and I love Route 66 so I appreciate roadside attractions. I just wish the games had Disney themed prizes. So many Disney dinosaurs they could use.

Anyone hear any rumors about Rogue One tickets going on pre sale? My theater does assigned seats and I know they'll sell quick and I don't want to have to sit in the front.

You know, I was there saturday and walked through that area even though Dino was closed, thinking the same thing, and realized all of the plants in the area are also in my back yard--- so all the plants in FL are dino plants?

Drone show previewed tonight. We have a thread with more info. Full show starts November 20th.
Several of my Facebook friends were there and live-streamed this and it looked pretty cool! Can't wait to see it!

Let's dispense with the bull on this:

Chester and Hester was thrown together with little forethought when they realized they had a 2 billion dollar problem in AK circa 2000.

They can rewrite history with cover stories all they want...but that's what happened.

Probably the best thing about iger...is that he has put real improvement time and dollars into AK.

...but EPCOT is rotting and going low quality...so then there's that...

You have to admit the roadside attraction story is genius. They got away with having the cheapest land on any Disney park for this long by coming up with a theme that actually allowed them to be cheap.

I'll give them points for the cover story...

But standing in front of the thing...it doesn't fit.

Because it never fit.

I do see them getting rid of it. As that level of cheap doesn't fit the "ultra luxury" market
