News Round Up 2016

We've done it twice. It's so much fun. Food is pretty good, drinks, desserts are awesome (be sure to grab a bunch of Maleficent's cheesecake push pops). The characters are so well done. I'd definitely go again.

That's why I had to do it. It's the best-reviewed Disney event I've seen, and I LOVE villains.

Get there early and drink some champagne outside. Once you get in get some photos of yourself in the villain thrones then start grabbing some food and a drink. The entrance stage show will begin, then follow the invitation they give you for the times to get in line to meet the villains. Do not wait around when you get to the last 2 you need to meet, get in line right on time. There will be times when the villains won't have anyone in line and aren't running off to do a show, you can jump in quick for a few extra shots/selfies/conversations with your favorite then. :)

I don't know if this has been discussed, but Disney is doing nighttime tests for a new firework show?

Here

We were in a lake view Polynesian room last weekend. They were running some sort of fireworks after 3AM, testing Christmas stuff with full music and lighting the castle as well.

Some DLR folks are really going to hate this. My guess is that they will retain the paper fast passes but also allow you to book the same on the app. It -would- be more convenient to do it digitally so you don't have to run all the way to a kiosk, but not everyone is comfortable with that format and some people won't have the right phones to be able to use the app. I haven't been listening to the DLR podcast lately, but I'm sure they will have opinions on this. :)

Figures. Our arrival day, and Mickey will be away from the parks gallivanting around the country. ;-)

Figures❗️November 18th is MY Birthday❗

AND i chose Animal Kingdom Park,
replete with an Exotic Lunch @ Tiffins,
Dinner @ Yak & Yeti;

FP+s for Finding Nemo, The Musical;
The Kilimanjaro Safaris;
and FOTLK Show!

SO
We will be Celebrating
MY & Mickey!s Birthday
WITHOUT the Famous Mouse :(

I think this digital option will work well for Disneyland. No magicbands or advance booking just a digital version of the paper fastpass.

I think it would be a quite convenient system. Assuming the system doesn't require advance booking, this will prevent people from running across the park to get a FP for their favorite attractions. Some kiosks will be necessary to make it easier for people with low-end phones (since most mid-high end phones are powerful enough these days), but overall it seems like this could save you some time from running from Tomorrowland all the way to Critter Country for a FP. As I said before, the major concern for me would be the wifi at the parks and also the boundaries within which you can book your FPs inside the park. The latter could be solved with precise GPS location, but you know, technology can be unpredictable.

I'm seeing that Epcot parking was at capacity today (Saturday). I'm hearing it was really nice weather in Orlando. I can't imagine being in that park with a crowd like that.
We made the mistake of scheduling Epcot on a Saturday during Food and Wine and we'll never do it again. It was super hot on the day we were there and the people were just sloppy drunk - running into you, spilling drinks on you, people throwing up, etc. It was a miserable day for us and we left very early. We'll drink, but we're not "LET'S GET OBLITERATED DRUNK!" people.

Some of the parking is being taken up for construction or something from what I have heard, so the park wasn't at capacity but parking was.

From what has been rumored it would be booked in the parks, they would use your phones location services to make sure you are in a park in order to book it.

Location is something easily faked. That could end very, very badly if someone wanted to mess with Disney and completely book all fast passes remotely for a day. And you know there are people out there bored enough to do that.
