News Round Up 2016

I hope not. This video gives me hope:
Awesome find! I've never seen that and that video gives me full confidence that Star Wars is in the right hands. I never really thought that all of these things Disney does like the optimist and frontierland game thing are just tests for much bigger things.

Via the disneyandmore Facebook page, a little bit of information translated with Google Translate from some random people who may or may not be telling the truth on a forum...

So grain of salt everyone! :)

(And if this has already been reported my bad)

Thanks ED92! And Google!

So this is discussing Villages Nature.

For those of you who haven't heard about this project (which I don't judge, not everyone is a nerd) this is a new resort development under construction in Paris. It's a partnership between Euro Disney (basically WDC) and another company. There's a water park, housing, retail, and hotels all in the works.

Apparently they're going to bring that concept to Walt Disney World and Shanghai Disney Resort.

It looks super cool...

It's being co-designed by the one and only Joe Rohde:

(True Rohde fans will appreciate the photographers choice to hide the earring...)

So basically it may be coming to the states. Just remember this is unverified. This could be misreported, but it's interesting nontheless.

So is this like a time share property? It does look like an amazing concept.

And Magicbands!

If you are at the parks and Epcot is in your itinerary. Can you inquire with CM's at Spaceship Earth if it is going to remain without having the riders faces put into the final scene.
I can't see any announcement for a change, and it seems like the "problem" has been going on too long for a "glitch".
I hate to keep harping on this topic but it is a family favorite.
With CM's handing out paper FP's after it first started happening, that acknowledges that they thought there was a problem with the ride that we might not appreciate. However with riders getting n o acknowledgement now I'm worried that they are not going to try and fix anything, which to me would be very disheartenin
It was not working on 10/9 or 10/11. I will check again later today (10/13).

See now I say take down aladdins carpets, that created a huge bottleneck in that area.

While I am not a particular fan of Aladdin's Carpets, I feel that attraction could do with a referb that added some kind of lighting. That area (and ride) seems very dull in the evening, whereas Dumbo shines after sundown with the wonderful lighting around the perimeter of the fountain base. While I have done the Treehouse and found it fairly lackluster, I would much prefer re-utilizing the Tom Sawyer Island real estate that has enough landmass for a meaningful addition as I find it incredibly lackluster as well. Then again this is my personal opinion and I have no memory of Tom Sawyer Island as a child (maybe my parent's didn't bother/realize it was even there) so I have no nostalgia attached to that attraction.

There may be timeshare components, it's a little complicated by having their partner involved. I'm not sure if DVC would work.

The one in Paris is more along the lines of a more affordable (most things are) Golden Oak, in which you buy housing or stay at the integrated hotel within the resort like Four Seasons. Only this time it's partially Disney.

I think it looks interesting. Though I still have some misgivings about their realestate practice of selling off land continually. Not even Epcot would have ever resulted in selling land to individuals. It would have been all be Disney owned and then rented off to corporations.

It's like Celebration.

It's short term gain for the longterm loss of development. It's silly.

I know right! I didn't see that one coming. That could mean Magic Bands are coming to Disneyland Paris, which is inconsistent with what their tops executives have said. We'll see. They are awesome!

Well, I mean... It's not like it's the size of "Tomorrow"land Speedway or anything...
It does seem to have a pretty good following, even though most who go up there have probably never seen the original movie. I haven't visited it in many years, but often sit across from it while enjoying a Dole Whip, and see many making the climb.

Oh, but that excess lighting might affect all the animals in the Jungle Cruise and the singing birds and flowers in the Tiki Room! pirate:

Because something people enjoy could be put in it's place......

My family enjoys the treehouse and go up it at least once whenever we visit. The kids love the climbing element and I love the view you get from the top - plus the history of it as an opening day attraction. I wish WDW had more walk-through attractions as they are nice little things to do that don't take waiting in long lines or having a FP for
