News Round Up 2016

I was surprised to see at one point mission space had a second option of some sort. Whenever I ride that I think it would be so much better if there was SOME cause and effect with all the useless button pushing. (I always intentional push the wrong buttons - so yeah I'll probably be that guy that messes up the Star Wars game on purpose.)

Hee Hee Hee :joker: We are also "that kind of guest" who as soon as we take off, we start flipping switches, pressing buttons, and generally being obnoxious...unless there are strangers with us...then we are a bit more subdued....

I'm surprised that it lasted that long. Hope they repurpose it for the general public and not turn it into something for conventions or special events.

We found out why it is still around: the operators of the swan and dolphin were paying for it...

It could be changed to some kind of eating venue...but the likely fate is "swing space"...which is conventions, weddings, special events...

The chance they add something meaningful to the couple of thousand $500 a night rooms within a stones throw is very small...

You don't expect to provide more facilities for those rooms, do you? Shirley ye jest...

Rumor

Atlantic Dance Hall is closing

I loved this place when it first opened. It was a venue for big band music of the 1940's.

Movie News

Disney's live-action Mulan is set to be released November 2, 2018.

This is one of the few animation to live action films that I'm actually interesting in seeing.

What's left at this point? Fantasia? Snow White? Anything else?

I don't see them doing Snow White any time soon, the market is already pretty saturated with live-action Snow White stories

Hercules could be an interesting one. Bringing all those mythological creatures, plus the underworld and Olympus, to life would be a fun CGI challenge. Plus it's a year older than Mulan, so within the time frame (if they have one) of what's acceptable to remake

You need to take lots of pictures and post them on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc. and tag the various Disney social media sites on each platform. Nothing will get change to happen faster than bad press, and as they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words."
Maybe they were full of cheap "I Tweeted" buttons?

DLR's will likely open at least 6 months earlier - but you are right that the capacity of the park overall is more likely to be able to absorb the crowds - at least after the initial few weeks of 6-7 hour wait lines.

DHS is more likely to have problems - but they are also more likely to handle them within the FP system. I could very easily see them starting these rides as 100% Fastpass booked, with leaving a small percentage of those bookings available to "day of" guests. (Expect also some sort of premium early-entry / late entry packages around Star Wars land - though admittedly these may actually be worth the $150 likely price tag for the first year or so.)

Even worse, I am considering an Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic tour to coincide with the DLR opening, well summer after opening hopefully. We would definitely pay for the early morning magic for DHS for Star Wars Land too:o

Thinking about it - this will be worth it just to have Benecio Del Toro in a theme park ride.

This might actually finally get me on that ride. I love Benicio.

Maybe this will get DCL off their rump and make a call on the Dream cruise "leaving" from PC on Friday:sad2:
