News Round Up 2016

Project Gemini was a massive plan to redo future world. It was to be done during the Eisner years. You can see plans for it online. It included plans for just about everything including a completely brand new ride inside Spaceship Earth.

Not to mention that Space Ship Earth would be overlaid in a gold color (like would have been in the proposed Westcot that never got built)

The plan would have called for a lot more rides (including two mountains in World Showcase) but idea would have been to use those to attract people in and motivate them to explore/"discover" the various areas

So still some level of "edu-tainment" but less explicit with the lack of corporate sponsors

The "best 3" at MK is subjective. Take 10 people and ask them to name thier top 3 rides at MK, and you are likely to get a wide variety of responses. Not so at Epcot. The top 3 are very clear there. The tier systems prevents every single person from picking the exact same three rides, because if that happens, it totally undermines/defeats the entire point of FP+ in the first place.

That's his whole point.

If thats his point, then how does complaining about the FP tiers fix it?

The only way to fix it is to have enough rides at Epcot that the top 3 becomes subjective there as well.

Anytime you have 3 choices, and everyone makes the same three choices, it defeats the entire point of a choice.

He was initially complaining about the tier system. I am simply pointing out, that in it's current state, the tier system is required. Sure, we all agree Epcot needs some TLC, but whining about the FP tiers is totally missing the point and is focusing on a symptom rather than the cause.

I think the problem is with online interaction, you're saying the same thing in different ways. Just talking past one another while actually agreeing!

Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder
Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
PotC
Seven Dwarves Mine Train
and then you have the non traditional picks like Peter Pan and/or princess meetings, which are still valuable from a saved time perspective.

The point is that magic kingdom
Has enough variety to provide an effective mix...the other parks really don't.

Augmenting the parks is the longterm
Solution.

Or...y'know...we could all just wait in line like everyone else.

Meanwhile, I'll sit on my throne and watch while I'm waiting for my DAS return time ;)

And therein lies the problem ... the tiers at Epcot are frustrating for guests and it's a problem DISNEY created and only Disney can fix ... even moving one of those three to Tier 2 would make things easier on GUESTS.
(Yes, FPs would likely be gone right around the 60 day mark for the Tier 2 Headliner, but anyone can CHOOSE to be an onsite pre-planner to take advantage.)

As it stands, most people could get by without booking their 2nd and 3rd FPs at Epcot ... doesn't that already undermines / defeat the entire point of FP+?

(To be fair, my family enjoys many of the non-headliners at Epcot, but we've never NEEDED FPs to avoid long waits for them before, so we aren't concerned about being pigeonholed by them this trip either.)

I really loved DAS Boot.
