News Round Up 2016

Wasn't there some official commentary that the Star Wars IP would not be limited to DHS in Florida? I like the discovery aspect mentioned up thread, but wonder if that sort of cannibalizes AK. They must at the very least see that the concept of "future world" is too hard to maintain, as it will constantly need to be refreshed to be relevant. This is especially tough when you have Tommorowland as well. While I think you can still maintain edutainment, the whole future thing is too hard to keep up with the times.
I guess I can see them having a mashup of smaller IP's that do not warrant their own land, but keep a common theme of edutainment. Everything from Guardians of the Galaxy, Zootopia and Star Wars. Heck, move Star tours over there(ok, unlikely).
It would be nice to have a bunch of stuff in the current future world area for the tweens, so mommy and daddy could cruise the world showcase while the kids have their own fun.

....and just because I have to, for the sake of fun....it's probably another monorail spur replacing the energy adventure. You know, for the 5th and 6th gate.

I recall in the proposed project Gemini Future Workd was to have part of it keep a similar theme and part to get a lot more greenery and have more of a "nature" feel to it .... and the name was to change to Discovery World as focus was more on discovery rather than strictly future or education

Discovery World aka come discover some our IPs

I see Living with the Land moving to Tier 2 FastPass+

Interesting that this ride never has a wait, except every once in a while gets a surge of people. Will switching it to FP+ Tier 2 actually lead to their being a bit of a wait?

Tiers continue to be shameful, embarassing...and near robbery.

...as you were...

This has potential to be super neat. I don't ever recall hearing about this before - what is it replacing? It seems to be a Trader Sam's-ish kind of thing. I can't wait to see more. They should put a Haunted Mansion themed bar somewhere...
It is in where SeaShore Sweets used to be on the Boardwalk.

Rumor

As part of the pending Epcot changes. Electric Umbrella is gone. A replacement for it is likely but maybe not in the exact same spot. Also expect more green around that area of the park. Future world might even get a name change.

Another hit to the nostalgia for me with this. Always ate here for QS meal on all our trips growing up. Used to love getting a double-bacon cheeseburger (and would love one at the moment) and eating on the second level overlooking the walkway.

Going to disagree with you hear. With a park with only a few rides that build any sort of line, the Tiering of the Fastpass makes sense. Calling out Soarin, Test Track and now Frozen Fever as Tier 1s only works. If you made it so that someone could pick all 3 - the EVERYONE would pick those 3, and the Fastpasses would run out 60 days in advance.

If you want to blame it on the lack of attractions truly deserving of Fastpass in that park - I would probably agree with you. But the Tiers in Epcot makes a lot of sense more than anywhere else. (I don't really think DHS should have tiering though - and hopefully when they have some more rides they can eliminate it.)

I think his point here is that it shows the lack of rides. It shows that Epcot needs more so it doesn't have tiers.

If so, that's what I am saying also.

That's what I'm saying...

Annual ticket price increases...but In two of four parks you get 1 outta the 3 best things...

Why?

Because if no tiers all would be gobbled up by the first to come...

What would happen then? Complaints...

What would the complaints show?

Not enough rides...

Who would get ticked off?

The general public.

Tiering both hides a problem and allows them to get away with the mistakes that created the problem...

Dutch door.

So, related to the tiers, didn't notice it before but Anna/Elsa meet and greet is not a FP+? Makes Fast passes a little easier with the little one.
