News Round Up 2016

Wow - that must already be pretty well along if it's out in less than two years. Not every animated movie should have a sequel but this one seems like it could work pretty easily.

Especially if they get the rights to using more Nintendo characters, which if I recall, Disney did. And I agree that it seems like it's been in the works for quite a while considering that Rich Moore also co-directed Zootopia.

Can anybody please give me a reason why wreck it Ralph 2 is going to be good despite taking place in the Internet? I have this bad feeling that the Internet thing is gonna end up as a terrible setting and I really don't want that happening to my favourite Disney movie.

When it was first released, they presented the idea of a sequel based on console gaming. I assume that's still a prevalent theme. They probably added some online gaming setting to keep it relevant. Knowing Lasseter, it'll probably have an ''Online games replacing arcades'' theme or something along those lines.

I have no idea...but maybe to bring it more into the present for a younger target audience? Arcades don't really exist anymore and most games are played either online or through an online-enabled console or PC or a handheld or a mobile internet device. Dunno. Just random thoughts

Thanks, I just don't want to miss the initial date. I am going to do the Dark Side challenge and know that they fill up very quickly.

Check out the run disney board, there's probably a thread for the race already and you'll stay up to date on the dates and any changes. They were super helpful with wine and dine registration this year.

WDWNT also seems to be saying that GotG ride was rumored to be Mission: Space - which I also somehow missed on here. .

Everything I've heard leads me to believe WDWNT is wrong here.

Please to take this with a grain of salt since they are contradicting their own rumor from yesterday - but now WDWNT reporting that Gaurdians of The Galaxy will replace Ellen's Energy Adventure.

An interesting idea if they can tie in into the theme of Energy. Can't say I would miss Ellen's. It's a cute ride/show and I remember as a kid being amazed by the moving theater seats, but the pavillion runs to about 10% capacity most of the time and the ride eats a full 50 minutes making repeatability almost non-existent.

However - this one makes a LOT more sense than any others - would be great if they could replace one of these near dead pavillions. Now Disney can you please do something about Imagination!

This is a pretty reliable rumor...

Behind on the times a bit but excited for the rumored changes to epcot. Ellen uses a cool ride system but is stale as hell and needs a change, and some video improvements to M:S would be much appreciated if that's how they decide to go about it

I just really don't want to see any annoying internet memes or YouTube "stars" (using that word extremely loosly) in the film.

If I see one "Grumpy Cat" character...

Actually, I can think of a few that could work. Nerdy Nummies comes to mind. If not in the film, then a tie-in video to pull in the youngins.

Also, you don't need to use the word 'stars' loosely when describing YouTubers. If they have 10 million subscribers, they're pretty much on that level. Don't believe me? I wrote a 65-page business thesis on YouTubers. It's legit.

I know the money is there...I just find it hard to find the merit in the work of someone who takes a video from YouTube (or another source), makes a .gif of it, slaps white block text on the top and bottom of it, and then reposts it all over the place.

In my opinion, a group like Dude Perfect is a little different. They spend hours trying to perform an athletic feat. That takes at least some form of talent.

I don't know...I just don't want to see them get out of hand. Some internet stuff is just so cringe worthy.

I'm hoping there's not going to even be a MENTION of Vine or prank videos in the movie..

My kids hardly watch regular TV anymore. One of my boys asked for, and received, a DanTDM (Minecraft) plush for Christmas. He has equal importance with Mickey!

The thing is about the internet, it's so referential it builds off itself. If you don't know the source it won't make any sense. Every generation has their thing, but a phrase from one wise man holds true "Parents just don't understand!" 8-)

my kids enjoy playing Minecraft - but they really like watching this guy Stumpy Longbottom play

I was going through vacation photos from our December trip today and while my daughter and I were on Splash Mountain my wife waited on the bridge and snapped photos of a small gator down in the water.

So uh.... yea, there are a few around.....

Looks like WDWNT is hopping on the wdwmagic bandwagon. If you read the GOTG in Epcot the was you'll see this won't be tied to energy. They are only using the building but gutting everything else.
