My thoughts were actually about how cool it would be to hit up Everest while the show was on, hoping the crowd/lines would be minimal.

It was rumored but the closure during the show hasn't been confirmed.

I just took a pic of this today and was going to post it. They were working on the sign as we were leaving Uni to head to WDW.

I am quoting a post from another site claiming that the HS Star Wars fireworks will now continue until the new "Star Wars - A Galactic Spectacular" starts in the "summer". This is from a pretty reputable site. Can anyone confirm this? Rteetz?

"One thing to note here is that the Phasma-led Procession and stage show are starting April 4th, while the enhancements coming to the fireworks are arriving in “summer.” The Star Wars fireworks as they appear now will continue until the new show debuts, which is a departure from the original plans. The fireworks here were supposed to end around the time Rivers of Light came online. But I think Disney realized that they don’t really want 15,000 people sticking around Animal Kingdom until 11:30pm at night and it would be less expensive and more profitable to hold them here at a Park that is otherwise used to staying open until 10pm in the summer. There would be relatively little interest in a rehash of Frozen Summer Fun."

That would be my main concern. Some people have ZERO consideration, and would gladly game the system by jumping the FP+ line once they know they can get away with it. I hope Disney responds to this WHEN (not if) it starts happening. And I am with @soniam , I will 100% report it if I see people doing it. (Not that the CM will probably do anything about it. )

I usually don't bother reporting it to a CM. I usually try to shame the people by saying something to them loudly, so that other people hear too. Shame and humiliation are very under-utilized and under-appreciated things in today's society

I highly doubt Everest will close for RoL. They are talking about running that show multiple times per night. They'll do one of two things:
Shut down Everest after dark completely (it makes no sense to keep opening and closing it between RoL).
Or, more likely, just crank the RoL music.

If I was running things, I'd take a different approach.

RoL Host: "Welcome to River's of Light, where you will experience the wonder and magic of the spirit animals that guide us. The screams you hear are wails of animals lamenting how you have all raped the earth for your own gain. Feel free to deposit money in the guilt buckets are available on the way out."

I agree with this part of the post - there should be ways to put up a sound barrier that would prevent but the faintest intrusion of the screams from Everest disrupting the show. Plus - Everest would become doubly popular. Could you imagine see the ROL show from the Everest Lift Hill?

Option three is to reduce capacity, either by increasing cycle times, or putting less people on a train. The former will space out the screams, making them somewhat less distracting, and the latter would reduce the amplitude as there are simply less lungs involved.

That would not be trivial. The screams happen in the section of EE that is in the open. Sound will be dispersing and echoing very effectively, and would require a pretty obnoxious sound wall to contain.

Plus - Everest would become doubly popular. Could you imagine see the ROL show from the Everest Lift Hill?

I can't a complete fix on orientation, but from the pictures, it'd seem like you're kind of off angle. Especially for the 2D projections, not only only would you need to crane your neck, but from high up, and to the extreme left of the RoL viewing area, the images would be somewhat distorted.

The barges and lanterns might be cool, but probably not cooler than Pandora at night, once it's online.

I don't think it would be a great view to really take in the show ... but as added scenery and movement and light, etc in the periphery of your vision, and hearing the music, etc. I think it could be pretty cool and just give a bit of a different feel to the ride

I didn't intend that it would be a great view, but just a fun perspective. Like riding Big Thunder Mountain or Splash Mountain during Wishes - far from a perfect view, but it adds to the experience.
