News Round Up 2016

If you really want to know what's coming to DHS beyond Star Wars and Toy Story, take a look at Pixar's lineup, maybe even Walt Disney Studios as a whole. Notice the pattern: Cars 2 is released along with Carsland, Alice Through the Looking Glass is coming along with Shanghai's attractions that are based on that version of Alice, same goes for Pirates of the Caribbean, Toy Story 4 is coming in time for Toy Story Land, Frozen 2 should come in time for Tokyo's Arendelle, a Star Wars film should come with SW land... At the end of the day John Lasseter and Iger probably have a deal in which Bob lets John build the land of his dreams if he agrees to release a sequel to support it. If phase 3 truly exists, it will probably involve Cars, Incredibles, or whatever comes afterwards.

More cuts Sorcerors of the Magic Kingdom location in Liberty Square closes

http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions...changes-to-sorcerers-of-the-magic-kingdom.htm

For people who actively play the game, this was the better of the two stations IMO

The firehouse always has a line that takes forever since it's the main starting point, and when I'm just trying to get that days pack of cards I don't want to wait while every family in front of me has the game explained to them.

90% of the game also takes place not on Main Street, so it's very inconvenient.

Small matter in the overall scheme, but still annoying

Breaking

Star Wars is shut out at the Oscars. Of all the nominations Star Wars didn't win anything...

To be fair.. In my opinion... Mad Max was an insanely good, fun movie.

Deus ex machina beat sw for visual effects and what that movie did on a relatively small budget... It deserved it.

I didn't see mad max so I can't comment. I was kind of surprised John Williams didn't win for score but the guy who did won his first.

I wasn't surprised one bit that John Williams didn't win. I love him, but just in my opinion the force awakens soundtrack was largely unremarkable.

That is the winner. I'm pretty sure he was honored this year as an 'I'm sorry we haven't given you an Oscar for your brilliant work in the past', not to say his score wasn't good for hateful eight. Trust me, this guy deserves it.

New name being thrown around Disney's Cinemagic Kingdom

Really:confused3 They are going to call the park DCK:rotfl2: That reminds me of my high school chemistry professor, Mr Head. His son's name was Richard Head, but they often called him by the common nickname for Richard;) True story.

This guy is awesome! I loved his work in Hateful Eight. We even had to look him up right after the movie. He's been around forever. Glad to see him get recognition.

I am having trouble picturing in my mind which location is the one that is closing. Is it the one out by the riverboat loading site? If so I personally say good riddance to it as I always seem to go to that location at a time of day when the sun completely washes out the screen. However I would think they should relocate it to a more weather friendly environment. If it isn't that location, then I have no clue what they were thinking!

Agree - while I liked Star Wars a lot - Mad Max did the "follow up to a movie from 30 years ago" best - and that movie was totally bonkers.

You had to look up Ennio Morricone? Rent yourself "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" IMMEDIATELY.

We had to look up the composers name. We missed it during the credits. I knew who he was once I saw his name. We thought it sounded very familiar though;)

This is 100% rumor, but I have a CM friend who says that this is the year "pay for FP+" will be introduced. He states that the FP + kiosks were put in place specifically for this purpose. No timeline given, and he has never "fed" me a rumor before. So, it could be as valid as a bus driver's observation. Just thought I'd share.

My visit last week indicated the second place was in the Christmas shop in Liberty square. This is the office training area, not a "portal".

I agree that guy was deserving and considering it was his first Oscar after six nominations good for him. I was just surprised nonetheless.

Well it has been speculated on before so it definitely wouldn't be a surprise.

Yes, it's the actual stand behind the Christmas store. It's a location to pick up cards/start a new game rather than an actual portal.

It's very small and unassuming - just a stand with a training portal (that just opened in November) near the Glade where Tiana and Naveen meet.

For the most part, only people who play the game regularly actually visit there since it's easy to access once the game has been completed.
