News Round Up 2016

Why does that guy get banished to the penalty box?

We put rumors from crazies in their basements claiming to be "Disney insiders" that are 98% wrong here all the time and nobody blinks...

(Sorry...this was a no brainer :) )

Because I have my own standards that differ from others here. And if I'm going to post a rumor, I'd prefer it to have substance and not just wishful thinking. Anyone else can pot whatever they like. I'l stick with people I trust.

My guess is toon lagoon would be gone.

Not that this is inside info or anything, but I would bet money that Nintendo doesn't go to IOA. While the Woody Woodbpecker zoon seems small, I am positive it will go there at this juncture. They will likely knock out the theater that they do the hollywood makeup comedy show, and possibly even continue further south and known out the terminator ride (by far the most dated attraction at the park). Over in Toon Lagoon they are already knocking out the old BMX amphitheater for a Secret Life of Pets attraction. And then you have Kong coming up right next to that and Marvel island getting it's facelift and potentially new ride replacing fearfall/storm force. To knock out Toon lagoon would mean finishing all of that ahead of time, which means we wouldn't get anything until 2020 at the earliest. Why would they let the craptastic world of woody woodpecker, curious george, barney, and fieval fester for another 4-5 years when they have stuff ready to go?

And believe me, I take any chance I can to rant about how Toon lagoon is my least favorite part of IOA/USF. SO it's not like I personally want it to stick around. It just doesn't make sense from a timeline perspective.

So you're saying your insiders are real where as others aren't...got it

In my mind I don't think Nintendo should go in either park. Looking at the space constrictions (not factoring moving back of house across 1-4) I don't see Nintendo being done justice. I dread us getting another Hanna Barbara type ride for Nintendo. I almost wonder if the land purchase could be a video game park. Universal Japan has some success with Biohazard/Resident Evil, and Silent Hill has made a few appearances at HHN. Combine either of those with the MIB ride system and you got a solid attraction. We haven't heard of Universal talking to any other developers but that would just be them trying to preserve the surprise. If I remember correctly Nintendo stock and future was in question before the announcement and the teaming with Universal help them. So maybe Nintendo prompted an early announcement to help them but Universal didn't want to yet.

I said I would get some wall pictures from Disneyland. However, Nothing much going on at Rivers of America. Here's a shot from the fantastic area, and there's nothing noticeable towards the back.

This is the wall over by the Hungry Bear, which is all blocked off for the eventual construction.

I stood on my tiptoes to reach over the wall to get a few shots. Unfortunately there is clearly no work being done yet within view

That's the best I could do. They are also refacing Roger Rabbit, which a haven't seen talked about anywhere.

There were talks a few months back about Universal being in negotiations with Konami.
